Strong audience reaction tonight and I thought it very good. Ran to 3hrs 5mins which seems the going rate but FOH told me the matinee ran to 2hrs 45mins - no idea what was cut!

Throughly enjoyed this this evening. Each act flew by and had sone great performances from all the cast. It did take a few minutes to get Imelda's Gypsy performance out my head but overall an enjoyable evening. At £10 a ticket for a dress circle seat, who can complain?

Thoroughly enjoyed it, had zero knowledge of the show in advance, thought Ms Staunton was incredible. |

I saw it last night and absolutely loved it.
Imelda was a revelation (again) to me. Funny, angry, sexy, full of rage. Her seduction of Luke Treadaway was a particular delight. What a treat it is to see such a powerful stage actress at the peak of her powers.
And Conleth Hill was brilliant too (if a little too camp)
Imogen Poots almost steals the show from everyone else though. A very endearing and funny performance.

Hill a total revelation and not camp at all ---- plays it with a sense of gathering defeat and sadness that, just as he's about to bottom out, comes back as if recharged, this time for the kill. Imelda has quite a few Momma Rose-isms intact but she's still a dynamo. Imogen Poots is remarkable --- one of the best Honeys I have ever seen, and much more than the usual giggly sad sack that the character can become.

Managed to score a £15 Rush ticket from TodayTix for yesterday's matinee so returned my dress circle seat when I arrived at the theatre. I can also confirm that the show ended bang on at 5:30, possibly a little earlier.
Conleth Hill was by far the stand-out performance for me; him and Imelda Staunton were brilliant during the opening scene, they just seemed to bounce off one another with their lines. Staunton also put on a great performance, but I do agree that she did seem to let her Gypsy mannerisms slip through in a few parts. I also found Imogen Poots very compelling as Honey; definitely believed in her fragility. I happened to like Luke Treadaway's hair too.
I also loved that the couple sat next to me knew nothing about the play itself and wound up loving it by the end of the second act. That's the power of Albee for you.

Do agree that Imelda hasn't quite got there yet Good perf but still seems like perf and not a character, but its early days. agree that Conleth Hill nails it and agree that Imogen Poots is excellent.

There's a D21 at the Dress Circle that says ''due to the curve of the wall your view may be slightly obscured'', but it's £15!
Is this really not worth it? Should I, at this moment for an April date, just pay £60 for a normal ticket at the Stalls?

Given that I think there was a drinks cabinet over there (guessing as I couldn't see it), there a large portions of the time when you are just listening to Conleth Hill.

Most of the action is pretty central. Thought the play was excellent, if exhausting to watch. Can't imagine how exhausting it is to perform.. I'd seen an amateur production several years back so remembered only small details. All four actors are great - every single one of them has the potential for a nomination next year I'd say, and Imelda and Conleth in particular are giving award worthy performances. I may try and catch this again later in the run. |

The N7 seat has ''restricted view'' alert, does anyone here ever sat on this seat? Such a good price (30 pounds) and maybe the pillar isn't much of a thing.

I've sat in O7, immediately behind it. There's a slim pillar in your sightline. You will need to move your head at times to see the action but if it's a good price compared to seats around it I'd say it's worth it - better than the side seats in the circle, certainly.
