I saw a clip earlier of Bonnie Langford and Anna Jane Casey performing together as a tribute to Chita and it looked marvellous.

I went.
It was great to see James Norton and Luke Thompson win for their 'A Little Life' performances especially.
It went on for what felt like a very long time 🤣. There was a running joke about Bonnie getting mad about really long speeches after Luke thanked about every single person he ever met in his speech - which was the first award.
Bonnie and Mel as a presenting team were brilliant, lots of off the cuff amusing moments from them both.
The performances were great, it was nice to see some from shows I hadn't got a chance to see before and yes Bonnie did do a number at the end and was great!
I still have no idea how Stranger Things was nominated since even the person accepting the award for new play commented they hadn't even opened. Very strange goings on there.

Happy to see Guys and Dolls won a few, my show of the year for sure.

So happy for Operation Mincemeat’s win, although I’m gutted that Jak didn’t win for best supporting role. That man is the Peter Sellers of that show, he does so many different roles each with a distinct voice and characterisation, he deserves some kind of award surely!

Bonnie and Mel were excellent hosts. One of the biggest laughs of the night came after Jamie Lloyd collected his award and Mel commented that it was “nice to see him dressed up for the occasion” (he was not).

Is that Mel or Mel and Sue fame?
I know WOS now have performer rather than male and female but it does mean 2 less awards and much harder to win with the competition. Otherwise I think Tom Francis might have got something.

WOSAwards seem to go by first preview rather than opening night - which is a bit weird but meant stranger things had played a week of shows. guess that means the whole stranger things netflix fans can get behind a show they've probably not even seen. |
