Has the venue been confirmed for this yet then? According to love theatre it's still to be announced.

Baz says presale is Ticketmaster, and it'll be at the Coliseum from 5th June.

I assume it's doing a summer run at the Coliseum since ENO are renting out the Coliseum during quiet periods. Kind of odd seeing a huge rock musical in what is an opera venue.

Yes I got a presale link from Ticketmaster for the Coliseum.
Highly doubtful I'll be buying anything tomorrow as I have had a lot of expenditure recently, but I hope there are other agents to buy from as TM do ridiculous fees. I would also be interested to see the ticket prices, because if it's anything like Sunset I may have to think again

So is this the big ENO musical of 2017 or will there still be a musical in April/May like Sweeney, Sunset?

Sunset and Sweeney weren't produced by the ENO, they were produced by GradeLinnit, who are doing 42nd Street at Drury Lane. Bat Out Of Hell seems to be a straight rental for the ENO. Glad to see Jay Scheib is involved though - he's amazing!

What an odd thing to say. The Coliseum opened as a variety theatre, the ENO moved in during the 60's. It's a theatre not an opera venue! In my opinion it's too big for opera and ballet and actually better served as a musical house like Drury Lane etc. I say move wicked there or open Spiderman there! (Joke)

I can't see this doing well at all. I thought Tim Rice said recently at an event that Chess was the next summer musical? No he said it was going into the coliseum. Can't remember if he said early '17 or early '18

The rather large cast was announced for this the other day, with little fanfare: musicaltheatrereview.com/bat-out-of-hell-christina-bennington-and-andrew-polec-cast/ Christina Bennington, Andrew Polec, Rob Fowler, Sharon Sexton, Aran MacRae, Danielle Steers, Dom Hartley-Harris, Giovanni Spano, Patrick Sullivan, Jemma Alexander, Emily Benjamin, Stuart Boother, Georgia Carling, Natalie Chua, Jonathan Cordin, Amy Di Bartolomeo, Jordan Lee Davies, Olly Dobson, Hannah Ducharme, Phoebe Hart, Rosalind James, Michael Naylor, Eve Norris, Tim Oxbrow, Andrew Patrick-Walker, Benjamin Purkiss, Anthony Selwyn, Courtney Stapleton and Ruben Van Keer. That is 29. This tweet suggests there may be a launch event outside ENO tomorrow, and I happen to be killing time in the area so may check it out:

I'm gonna be in Victoria at around 4pm, so was debating with myself whether to go over to the Coliseum and check it out or not....but I think Meat Loaf may have just swayed my brain!!

Booked directly with the ENO as although Ticketmaster had seats nearer the stage I could not justify paying £53 in booking fees for 4 tickets. That's just a ridulous amount.

Anyone else go to the launch? Meatloaf limped on stage and taked about the show, as did the producer. Then the principles did a few numbers (which were fun) and a scene (which was a bit sh*t and pompous, at least Rock You knew it was guff). All done on the back of a lorry, and with a good 50 Harley Davidson motorbikes being rev'ed hard as the cast left the stage. Didn't fill me with confidence as a stage show, but as the best rock gig you'll hear (like Rock You was) it does have legs. Great idea to launch a show though.

Ended up being quite near the front which was nice. Meat Loaf did look rather frail but it was really great to see him in person. It was all a little haphazard before the cast came on. Totally agree they were fun numbers - Bat Out of Hell was long (over 8 mins on my video!) but really cool. Other 2 numbers also created a great atmosphere. Lots of people singing a long and obviously love the whole Meat Loaf/Bat Out of Hell thing. Lead guy was very theatrical, great for the part! And yes that whole scene thing was weird, though lots of people around me were talking along with it Rocky Horror style. It was a really cool half hour concert and great to see some of the cast in action, but didn't totally feel like it made me rush to the box office with a *need* to see this show. But I'm sure it enticed a lot of established fans. The revving of the motorbikes afterwards was pretty awesome.

If you go to the Palace Theatre & Opera House Manchester Facebook page there are some videos of the Manchester launch (with Meatloaf) and a preview of BOOH.

Still undecided whether to get tickets for Manchester. I was really excited when this was announced but the rehearsals video looks awful. It's trying to be WWRY 2

Can anyone advise me if there is a point in booking a balcony seat there (are front rows there really that restricted?) or maybe there is a chance to get a discounted seat somewhere more close to hell earth? I'm not good with heights and with money for the stalls seat, but really want to see that
