Rear Circle is closed tomorrow evening and still many seats left in stalls and front circle.

Just a question. Obviously American in Paris wasn't selling that well (even though it was oen of my faovurite shows of the year and should of run ALOT longer), did it only close because of Bat Out of Hell wanting the Dominion or would it of closed in January anyway, even if another show didn't want it? Because if it closed just because Bat wanted it, that kinda makes me sad, especially considering Bat Out of Hell, as it currently stands, isn't doing any better than American in Paris was doing. I'm curious.

Rear Circle is closed tomorrow evening and still many seats left in stalls and front circle. It's closed for every performance this week (apart from Thursday night), although the none of the prices have been reduced which seems odds.

I'll be seeing it on a rush ticket soon anyway. Real pity I that it isn't selling so well. Is the opening night on Thursday? Even that isn't sold out yet.
As for sound issues in the theatre. I've heard it's best to try to sit in front of the overhang in the stalls?

Surely reducing prices is better than not selling at all?
Anyway, going to this tomorrow night. Not a clue where we’re seated yet.

Rush tickets aren’t selling very well either, still 9 left today on TodayTix. Didn’t they extend the booking period recently? I was naive enough to think that meant it was selling well.
Praying it lasts through to June as I intend to drag my parents along when they come to visit!

If you turned up at the Box Office twenty minutes before the show would they give you a reduction for good seats?
Also, where are the Rush seats?

Rush seats seem to be rear side stalls.

Yes, very sad to see it's still being papered this week. Hopefully sales will pick up after the reviews are out. It can't be said they aren't marketing it well - you can't look anywhere in Central London or on social media at the moment and not see adverts for this show.
Possibly going to the press night on Thursday - when I asked about the dress code I was told a lot of the super fans will probably go in full costume. If that's the case I'm going to go in my favourite costume from the show - the pink speedo.

At a quick guess, this is a musical aimed more at tourists than locals and more at my generation who grew up with Meat Loaf than the young kids who are all savvy about ticket apps and rush tickets and whatnot, so I would actually expect more sales at the box office during the day and via classic outlets such as TKTS.
I also haven't looked at the seating plan for the week because I don't want to depress myself, lol, but considering what a huge barn the Dominion is, personally I just wouldn't buy anything for the far back of the stalls, the side stalls or the circle because it seems like a waste of time/money. So maybe they aren't even expecting to fill the place completely and are content with half-capacity?
Anyway, I love the show to bits, so I do hope it'll pick up now that summer tourist season is beginning and when word spreads. Obviously more discounts would help too.
Dare I ask what "in full costume" even means? All in black with bat wings?

I suspect we’re talking basques & fishnets, blood splatters and bedroom copies of Strats t-shirt...

I guess I'm officially too old for nerdy fandom. In my days it was an uphill battle to re-create a full Starlight Express costume with wig and rollerskates or get your mum to crochet legwarmers for a Cats costume.

Apparently if you find a hidden bat in tonight's Evening Standard you can get 25% off tickets.

Very odd thing on the online sales seating plan. For tonight Wednesday earlier on Tuesday it was showing as vast availability (probably approx 50%) and suddenly now it is virtually sold out! (I only know this as was gonna book a ticket to go!).
Can any of the ticketing geeks on here explain this? Can't be a sudden surge of sales on the main site, the producers must have taken them off general sale to go to agencies/clubs to ensure a sell out tmr I think?

We were sat near the back of the stalls last night in Row Y which was a great view. There were however quite a few entire rows that were nearly empty, but it was full enough for a Tuesday night in general. I’d just not expect a new show to be struggling this early on.
My mum actually wanted to leave at the interval but I talked her into staying. We both enjoyed the second act a lot more and did come out smiling at the end!
The first act was a real drag though, apart from Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad. Danielle Steers has a heck of a voice on her! Actually the whole cast does which was extremely impressive. The acting and story on the other hand was atrocious. I think I would have preferred it as a tribute concert. I didn’t even get the Peter Pan connotations until Act 2 where it started to make some kind of sense.

I wonder if going to the Coliseum last year was a mistake? For the sake of this run at least?

Is the theatre selling the cast recording yet? It’s not easily to get hold of on amazon...

Board members are reminded that mention of "papering" company names is NEVER permitted, and that they could be banned by both the company involved and this board for doing so. It's also really annoying for those of us who aren't lucky enough to be in the know to ever get any decent free tickets!
