Perhaps an announcement re: a return to London? Well the website says 'Sign up for London 2018" linking to a page "To hell and back... 2018"

Cue some theatre speculation... Wheres free next year thats big enough to house this monstrosity? Drury Lane? the Palladium? Movement into The Palladium would infer a short run. I'm wondering if this is something they're hoping might do a few years.

I'd guess the Dominion too - right atmosphere and probably they can do the amazing pit joke there, with luck. Oh my lord I absolutely PISSED myself at that pit joke (and no I haven't wandered over from the Follies thread), that's really my kind of humour and I thought it was genius. Must be kept!!

Interval thought: very upset that they cut 'It Just Won't Quit'. Other than that, great energy and audience enthusiastic but well-behaved. Hope the show does come back.

Could it possibly come back to the Coliseum for another limited engagement next year? What's their schedule like? Or are we talking an open-ended run here?

The live feed from the theatre was a bit of a let-down. Nothing really happened. They mentioned that it would be back in London in 2018, but didn't give any more information. No mention of a cast recording...

The Coliseum already has Kiss Me Kate from Opera North and probably another classic musical so it's unlikely Kiss Me, Kate is like 10 days or something, isn't it? So far, the Coliseum has nothing announced from the middle of April - end of June 2018 and nothing announced past the end of Kiss Me, Kate from July 2018 onward. Who knows - I'm just wildly speculating! Anyway, that 'live stream' of the curtain call on YouTube was the biggest waste of a minute if I've ever seen. Christina & Andrew walked through the audience, held a banner over them that read 'See you in London in 2018', then they left the theatre and were driven off on motorcycles. Absolutely pointless.

Well I was there tonight. First time seeing it and I really enjoyed it.
Fantastic singing but I didn't like all the voices.
I'm quite glad I was unfamiliar with most of the songs as the one song I know inside out I found underwhelming.
I hope there is a soundtrack soon.
It definitely wasn't perfect behaviour where I was but I'd prepared myself for it as it was the last night.
Two questions, how did Strat get all that blood on him at the end of Act One and what happened to the Dad when it looked like they were going to shoot him and then he got up in a new outfit like a new man towards the end of Act Two?!

At my second viewing tonight of 'Bat' I was very glad I saw Andrew Polec who was distinctly better than the alternate Strat, Benjamin Purkiss who performed well enough, but Polec was something special! In the second row of the Upper Circle the sound was louder than in the side front Stalls where I sat previously and really just too loud for me, which took the edge off my enjoyment a little bit but it was terrific to see the whole spectacular production from a relatively central position. I enjoyed the audience response and booked specifically to be there for the 'last night' farewell. Despite the ridiculously bad choreography I still rate the show highly, even though it is way out of my usual field and I was again thrilled by the score (magnificently performed by the singers and the orchestra) that does exactly what is required for a successful stage musical.

Have to say, I think that maybe some of the songs were overly long and could be cut. I guess that's upset the fans who love the originals.
Does anyone remember Supergirly? They did a great version of It's All Coming Back To Me Now.

My first time last night... it's hard to tell how much I liked the show as the guy next to me made the experience excruciating. He was clearly immersed in his own experience, but his hands waved furiously throughout as if he was the MD, clicking his fingers, playing air guitar and drums throughout, singing along etc. This was immensely distracting and I can't imagine how that was for the people directly behind him. I've had a few experiences of jukebox shows whereby people believe singing along is acceptable. This was on another level though. I didn't feel comfortable to say anything either as I was on my own and he was drinking heavily throughout. So I find it quite difficult to then objectively think about the actual show. Great songs. Great cast. I couldn't really recall a story or plot other than a main concept. The set was pretty spectacular. I did feel a little bored at points but more frustrated by my neighbour!

Think they definitely need to do a one off singalong so these people can get the singing out of their system. I've been 3 times now and always had people singing around me. Bad full on shower singing too. No attempt at even a harmony 😉 What comes over these folk I have no idea. Incredibly distracting. One bloke sang a beat behind throughout - like being in an echo chamber. I'm unsure some of them have grasped the concept of paying to see a show where other people do the singing ONSTAGE. Things ramp up even further for the Celine number - an collective audible 'Oh I LOVE this one' can be heard all over the auditorium. Hopefully the 2018 version will go down the route of Dreamgirls (no singing, dancing, PDAs, takeaway food etc) and put up a sign - things were clearly getting out of hand there too.

I think as it was the last night all of the crazies were probably all in at the same time, all the times I went were completely fine for audience behaviour. I'm part of a Bat Out Of Hell Facebook group that had over ONE HUNDRED of its members seeing the show last night, I think they were most of the group that did an impromptu rendition of "Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire" outside the theatre that the official Bat account later tweeted. I'm glad the show's coming back in 2018, if it can get into the Dominion it won't sell it out any better than any of the previous shows since the first few years of WWRY did, but at least it's likely to get an extended run. Agreed that Andrew really does make the show something else, I never got to see Ben but I did see Ruben van Keer, he was phenomenal but the top notes weren't quite at Andrew's level. Live stream was a bit disappointing, but lovely to see Andrew and Christina and to have it officially confirmed that we're getting more Bat next year. Just need to get my passport sorted and treat myself to a Toronto weekend PS. I'm fuming that they cut It Just Won't Quit. I LOVED that song.

I too am a member of said facebook group, mostly as a means to acquire information, but I can't help but be entertained by the level excitement over absolutely everything. Whilst my sarky side sneers, the nice half thinks it is quite lovely seeing a community being formed.
