Heathers I can't imagine both Drury Lane and the Gillian Lynne being closed over the winter... A theatre with that number of seats needs something to command some great ticket sales, and speculating about what could be coming that could command as much as Frozen is a wild guessing game... Whatever is gonna be announced in the near future could be a bombshell for sure. The autumn/winter season in a grand old theatre is always great for something spooky... Beetlejuice, then?

Haha, and I thought I was being subtle It would be fun for it to go there. Though, TRDL is a MASSIVE theatre, you'd have to sell a lot of tickets to younger people and I fear the theatre could definitely overshadow it if not done right (though, I suppose the new film is coming out, so there'd be renewed interest.) I imagine Beetlejuice more at the Gillian Lynne, when I saw Crazy For You there it seemed to fit the space. I'd love to see a proper spooky/darker show at TRDL though, maybe Addams Family if it could command that family audience around Halloween. I find it more likely another winter-y show is probably gonna go there (I know there was talk of Elf?)

Is she on about Drury Lane or Haymarket tho Haymarket is fairly booked until the end of the year. Unless it's gonna slot something into an already tight schedule.

Yeah, Haymarket seems set The Picture of Dorian Gray Tuesday, 6 February 2024 Saturday, 11 May 2024 A View From The Bridge Thursday, 23 May 2024 Saturday, 3 August 2024 Waiting for Godot Sunday, 1 September 2024 Saturday, 14 December 2024
and two kids shows doing morning/matinees on the existing sets.
Peppa Pig’s Fun Day out! Thursday, 28 November 2024 Sunday, 5 January 2025 The Tiger Who Came To Tea Monday, 8 July 2024 Sunday, 1 September 2024
I assume they hope to extend Godot rather than going dark for the last couple of weeks of the year...

Drury lane has something in Nov-Jan though and it's not exciting, so whatever the cool thing is isn't until Feb at the earliest?

I thought Elf was going on an arena tour at that time? I'm sure the general reaction would be less "I gasped" if Elf was going in, but who knows if this rumour being passed about is accurate.

It's clearly the Watermill's actor-musician version of "The Lord Of The Rings".

It’s actually Kym Marsh in 101 Dalmations
What they should put in there is The Greatest Showman. One of the few titles I think could actually sell that place out.

Elf is off! Obviously… having seen the Jamie Lloyd announcement. Not sure why it fell apart.

Elf is off! Obviously… having seen the Jamie Lloyd announcement. Not sure why it fell apart. Perhaps they saw the take for the previous runs? No amount of £15 seat filler tickets aren’t gonna push Drury Lane into profit.
