Eventually got through and booked everything I wanted to without - once in, of course - no hassle at all.
No dates even close to being sold out yet so don't panic if you haven't got through.

Yes, just booked for Othello with no problems- that is selling well but still seats for all dates.

Im in town saturday so will go in person to book. I want to book for Captive Queen too. Read not Dead for me too. The Captive Queen. Really ? Are you aware Barrie Rutter is not only directing this but appearing in it too ? Best avoid the £62 tickets. Haha! I know but when is there going to be another opportunity to see Aurunge-Zeb, even in an adapadaptation? |

Hi everyone, I’m American and this will be my first time at The Globe. What is the preferred section to sit/stand? I bought a ticket to Othello in the Yard but if someone can suggest a better seating situation I’d love to hear it.

Bear in mind that standing in the yard really means standing in the yard  You have to stand for the full show and the yard area is not covered so if it rains you get wet, if it's sunny you get sunburn. However if you're OK with that, you have the best view of the action. Other than that, most seats have some level of restriction due to the nature of the theatre with pillars supporting the upper galleries and two pillars on stage, and are priced accordingly - I tend to go for the slightly restricted ones in the blocks face on to the stage. The seats are wooden benches with no backs, unless you sit on the back row. You can hire cushions and portable seat backs from the theatre. |

If you bought a standing ticket, then you have to stand. It can be hard on the feet so wear comfortable shoes. But you do engage with the action. If you want to sit down, then any of the galleries is fine. There are no backs to the benches and the leg room is cramped so if you have any mobility or physical probs, check carefully and maybe choose the end of a row and the back row of a gallery.

Yay very happy I have now got tickets for Othello after a stressful morning, gone for back row of the lower gallery for the £32 seats that are a good view from when I saw a midsummer nights dream. I feel very lucky today to get reasonable. tickets for Othello and Hamilton and finally see both of them.

Chaos at the Globe tonight. Chose two seats & then got told that the seats couldn't be sold because they had computer problems. Luckily the seats have been reserved & they are going to phone me tomorrow to complete the booking.

Slightly shocked at how expensive it is.. no seats under £47 with a clear view? Not good. There are so few seats with an unrestricted seat at The Globe that the chances of you getting one are remote. They even say this on the website to prevent disappointment.
That said, there are also very few seats where the restricted view hinders any enjoyment you get from attending a play there.

Well, that was interesting. No luck all day in IE or Firefox. Just tried in Chrome, straight in and a back row seat for Othello sorted. Same for me - thanks for the advice. The Read Not Dead Performance of Sir Thomas More almost sold out - Shakespeare completists scrambling for tickets. It is an odd play in many ways, not least for having Erasmus as the main comic relief. |

Booked for Othello in late September. Annoyingly i couldnt book for the Middleton read not dead, apparently coz its in December it forms part of the 18/19 winter season!
Rowed back from Captive Queen as train snafus make it impossible tovgo down in the day i had wanted to go, oh well.

Looking forward to seeing Michelle Terry as Hamlet(we all knew this really after Henry V), could be the Hamlet of 2018.
Will be there for the 'opening' night Hamlet on the 25th to welcome Michelle to the Globe.

I'm feeling rolly eyed about the casting. I love Michelle Terry and I enjoyed her Henry V, but I will not be seeing yet another Hamlet. I'm all Hamletted out.
