Of course but there's been a period of time before that when there was no West End role. She hasn't returned to a West End role either. She didn't secure a panto role in London and her last panto role was in Crawley. I'm not knocking Crawley but it's slipping further from a West End stage. Sure, but it just feels strange to judge her for not having had a West End role recently when she's been pregnant and then caring for a very young child. I can only reference you to my response above which you initially appeared to agree with i.e. "sure, but..." and then you lean into the emotional 'but she's had a baby' of which I made no reference too and certainly placed no judgement in line with that. If people are lucky enough to have a child that they wanted then it's their responsibility to care for them. Thousands upon thousands of people do this and just get on with it. It was Carrie's choice to be a performer and it was Carrie's choice to perform at WEL.

Just not a fan of suggesting that women should somehow be judged for not immediately returning to work. I don't think it's fair to suggest that Carrie not having a West End role in the last couple of years somehow suggests she couldn't get one, when she's purposefully taken time away from her work to have a child. There's a fair amount of prejudice against new mothers in the industry at the moment, as I hear it, so it didn't seem right to just let the comment slide.
But this is not related to WEL, so it's neither here not there.

She's entitled to take as much time as she needs, and it must be very hard in an industry that is so demanding.
I look forward to hearing her Calamity Jane, as I am a big fan of the score, and her voice in Heathers was great.

But this is not related to WEL, so it's neither here not there. I never once brought maternity leave into it or a judgement thereof. I can only conclude you are deliberately trying to take this into a wider argument of women returning to work which is not accurate to anything I've said and just plain wrong as it was never once referenced by me. The fact is that you were the one that brought it up. Carrie herself has said she's auditioned for roles and not got them - she wanted to get West End roles and hasn't secured them. If she had of done, she would have been in the West End long ago, currently or have a role lined up. It's as if your fighting a battle of your own making as the only one that referenced maternity leave and then applied negative connotations to it was you. Your response is also a little odd after you agreed with my comment of a timeline of years prior by confirming "sure", so you fully understood I was referencing years prior.

You're reading far too much into one throwaway word, I'm afraid. And I stand by my original point. As I've said, time to let this go as it's nothing to do with WEL.

How can you "stand by my original point" if it was only "one throwaway word". That defies logic. No, please don't answer that, let's just focus on WEL! I do appreciate you agreeing with me on the timelines of Carrie not getting West End roles for years prior, at the present and future, which was the only point I was making and people can read that for themselves.

Carrie not being west end anymore has nothing to do with her having a baby but more to do with the failure of Cinderella. Her inclusion at WEL was truly odd.

LOVED 42 Balloons performance, "Helium" is one of the best new MT ballads in years. It was a great performance. "Helium" was a standout - so beautifully sung. I didn't really know anything about it before this performance and now it's on my 'need to see' list.

I never enjoyed Jersey boys as a show but always loved them at WEL, the lion king’s performance is like that for me this year. I do think it was a high standard year, even though it feels like fewer big shows performed.
