It used to be more common to mark them than it is now - as I remarked elsewhere the 400th anniversary of Moliere’s birth went largely unmarked in 2022. At one time the NT might have marked the Austen anniversary in some way but one assumes they will deliberately ignore it this time - as noted above these occasions are potential money spinners for regional theatres.
