Just before we all start departing and heading our separate ways I just wanted to take to opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
Some of you I have met, others I have not but regardless, I hope everyone travels safe and keeps themselves well.
I also wanted to take time and acknowledge the hard work that our Moderators do- I know that on occasion they’ve had to pull one or two of us in line- myself included- or delete a message or two.
Thank you also to all of you who have commented on and/or liked my posts, or responded to personal messages.
Whist we may not necessarily agree on certain things, the one thing that we all have in common- and is the reason why this board, and indeed our little community- exists is our mutual love of live theatre.
Personally, as my parents are in Australia- my sister, who’s also here in the UK, will come round and with my flatmate- who’s mother is also abroad, in India) we will have an ‘orphans’ Christmas.
So, be well, be happy, have far too much food and wine- hopefully Santa will find you- and lets see as many of you as possible next year, and lets welcome any new members with open arms.

Just to say I hope everyone has a good weekend and we can look forward to a year of good theatre and good chat here on the Board. Not an easy time for everyone, so again as usual, log in here if you want to chat/ have a moan/ reflect.

Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful 2024. Thanks for all of the interesting posts this year. It really enhances my theatregoing to discuss plays here and read different viewpoints. Looking forward to much more of the same next year.

Not an easy time for everyone, so again as usual, log in here if you want to chat/ have a moan/ reflect. I agree, I'm on another face book group where I live and several have commented how they dread Christmas and just want it to be over. I would urge anyone to chat to someone whether online or in person. It's only a day and chatting can make all the difference.

Agreed, it can be an incredibly difficult time for many people who can’t, or don’t want to, meet the expectations and excesses of a “Christmas card Christmas”. I’ve been there a few times, and even though I’m not alone I still often find it difficult , remembering Christmases and people past. At the end of the day though, spiritual aspect aside, Christmas as the concept it’s become is a collection of parts , external to ourselves , brought together in the expectation they will make us happy. It can do, which is great, but only temporarily, and we should enjoy it with that understanding, managing our expectations (and budget). True and permanent peace and happiness can only be found within ourselves , not externally , and that’s what I’m aiming for , and depending on, peace of mind . I wish the same for all of you , peace and happiness, not just at Christmas, but always .

Merry Christmas to all you board members. I will be dipping in and out of here over the Christmas period although I expect it will be pretty quiet.
I made a decision to have a solo holiday at Christmas instead of staying at home by myself pretending to enjoy the turkey I had just cooked and watching repeats on TV. So yesterday I flew to Spain for a few days. I've been sitting in the sun all morning, 20c currently, and this afternoon. Going into Malaga to see the Christmas lights which are meant to be the best in Spain. I'm absolutely loving it and this could be one of my best Christmases in years.

All the best to everyone. Have a peaceful and relaxing Christmas wherever you are spending it. It’s been another wonderful year of TheatreBoard with discussions of all things theatre and life generally. Here is to more of the same in 2024.
A big thanks to all the admin staff for your work in keeping the board running. It is greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas everyone and thank you all for all the interesting discussions, information and gossip so valuable to a wannabe-Brit stuck on the wrong side of the Channel! With two all-time favourite shows in London in 2024 I think it's gonna be a great year! And I'll add my voice to those thanking the admin for their great work and keeping the board free from so much of the drama that tears other online places apart

Merry Christmas everyone! I've been a long time lurker on this board but finally took the plunge and joined up this year. Such a great community to be a part of. Special thanks to the admins for keeping us in line. Here's to a healthy, happy and prosperous new year filled with many hours of theatre talk and 5* productions!

I can't believe it's already that time of year again.
Happy Christmas to all of TBs increasingly large number of members, new or old, and best wishes for the new year.
Here's to the Crucible Theatre becoming even more world-famous in 2024!!! 🙂

Have a fantastic few days everyone! I’d like to add my voice of thanks to the mods who have to keep our sometimes needlessly irate opinion-sharing in check. A special wish too, to those whose opinions I haven’t shared. It’s just entertainment guys. X
