It looks like the tour for this could be back on, it has booked into some ATG venues for 2025. But I said the same a year ago and it never ended up going ahead so we shall see.

WOS have posted this short. Could be nothing, but I don't remember them sharing memories of past show closings before on the anniversary of the event. So maybe preemptive?

I wonder how similar/different this will be to the original - with a new director who has said it 'offers the opportunity to reexamine some of its contemporary themes and present this brand-new version'

Just bought Mcr tickets. Actual half price first night. I paid 29 pound for decent seats. Bargain. Yet again not a word from ATG by email to tell me. Appalling service

I actually don't mind the artwork. I think they've gone for a Heartstopper vibe.
Interesting to see it is a Nottingham Playhouse production as they don't do loads of musicals

One assumes that the multimedia elements will be reduced to a 19” Sanyo telly, and people looking at their phones.
Does that mean that the original creatives don’t get credit/royalties?

I have booked. Very intrigued by the 'new production'. In all fairness, anything will be better than the sound Dear Evan Hansen experienced at the Noel Coward - awful.

Personally I'm glad it is a new production. The score is glorious but the West End production left me cold.

I quite like the poster. Him alone in a crowd. Don’t think I would have bothered with a touring version of the West End production, but will give this new one a go. Nice to see Storyhouse starting to get the tours in again, been a bit thin on the ground there this year.
Am definitely NOT booking a show in 2025 yet though.

It's going to be quite the year for Nottingham Playhouse and Adam Penford.
The world premiere of James Graham's The Punch in May, then this new production of Dear Evan Hanson in September.

The new artwork is a bit busy but I think it represents the show much better than the original. There is greater context about what the show is about. And yes it does have slight Heartstopper vibes, which is no bad thing for its target audience.

I LOVED the West End production... and am just as excited to see this new production! Will be booking for Birmingham and Wolverhampton (6 months apart.... perfect!). Loved Sam and the original cast.... but that was the old.... bring on the new!

Oh I'd missed it being James Graham, interesting! It is certainly a more exciting year than usual. They also have a co production of Minority Report by David Haig and The Trials that was seen at the Donmar last year!

It's interesting that DEH's tour is being done by a regional theatre and not the original producers.

Good luck to it as it cant be worse then the original production or film I always said 'it can't be worse than the show' until I saw the film...the thing with DEH is it ALWAYS gets worse 😂
