Is this the same Survivor format that’s huge in the U.S? Im not saying it’s not entertaining but it’s I’m a celeb mashed up with Bear Grylls Island. in other words basic AF.

Keep meaning to give this a go. I know I watched the original series, but don’t remember it at all other than the winner becoming tabloid fodder.
The revived Big Brother is taking up a lot of viewing time at the moment though. Crap, but watchable crap. Wish they’d ditch all the task rubbish and just focus on the people and their interactions as that’s when I find it fascinating. It’s lost something in it’s move to ITV though. It feels blander. And it’s absolutely rammed with product placement. Once this one is done I won’t be bothering with any future series.

Yep the original in early 2000's was/is huge in the US but never took off over here. I've not watched the new BB series as it doesn't seem the same and people in there weren't that interesting.

Joel Dommett is the wrong choice for this. His "witty" asides and tongue-in-cheek tone aren't quite right for a show that wants to about plotting and scheming. Claudia got the tone right in Traitors where she knew when to be light and when to be serious. When ITV did the original series they got the newsreader Mark Austin to host. Joel is perfect for the absurd Masked Singer but not here. I'm watching it because I started watching it and it keeps popping up on my box but I doubt I'll stick with it.

They've massively shot themselves in the foot by having it on weekly.
It should have been nightly like Traitors was.
It's got better as it's gone on, but the early episodes aren't interesting enough and you could easily forget by the following week that it's on.

The Traitors was weekly as well but it was 3 episodes over 4 weeks.

Traitors was more regular and closer together, it felt more intense and almost live so you got into it and it added to its compulsive viewing factor.

He’s not very good at the bit where he interviews the losing team about who should be eliminated. You want someone whose going to make them feel uncomfortable but Joel is a bit too nice.

I'm quite enjoying this show, I like the tactical elements and some of the challenges seem pretty brutal, more entertaining than the tasks in Traitors.
I didn't think Leilani would last 5 minutes, she's hilariously camp - even more so when you find out she's the same Leilani who released some chart-dodging silliness between 1999-2000.
Here she is with her debut Madness Thing which reached #19. It was followed with Do You Want Me? (#40) and Flying Elvis (#73).
I did buy some of her singles, purely for their Almighty remixes of course... does that make it any better? Possibly yes, probably no!

That was a very strategic weekend wasn’t it? Lots of double dealing and fake alliances. I felt a bit sorry for Shai before because nobody seemed to like him but true colours were finally shown!
