Does Alexandra still stick her finger in her ear when she’s struggling to find a note? That’s going to be difficult wearing a wimple. On another note, it does make me laugh when Mother Superior puts Dolores’s cigarette inside her wimple to confiscate it! I loved that as well but I always think it’s hilarious when she sits down to have a shave before Haven’t Got A Prayer.

Does Alexandra still stick her finger in her ear when she’s struggling to find a note? Was this something she did on the last tour? I never saw it which I’m actually glad about because of the videos I saw of the production. This was the first production of the show I saw and it was easily 5 stars for me.

I should say a little to defend her here, and this is my classical singing degree and many years sitting through MANY shows talking, she did well. It wasn't a performance for me, but that was mostly because of how much it felt like a 'celeb' walk on role rather than the lead, what I felt this part needs - someone literally electric with energy. She sang it all well at the performance I saw, at times her voice soars and at times unfortunately it just isn't suited for the sing.

I saw her do it in The Bodyguard but assumed it was an acting choice. But then when I saw her do it in the Sister Act tour I realised it wasn’t. It was eight years ago though so…

Resident director clearly too scared to tell her off, or someone has ok-d it as a ‘choice’? Is it in a performance scene or within the context of the story? Does it ‘break the fourth wall’?

It is quite funny that rush has dropped £5 in price since Burke joined the cast...

Looking at the booking pages for the next couple of weeks they seem to be finding it hard to sell tickets which is a shame.
Will be booking for the last show in Aug soon and hope it moves somewhere else but fear it will end in Aug and not move to a new place.

I did notice that Alexandra’s run was struggling to sell, even when Lesley and Lizzie was announced. I was hoping that they would start to sell when it was announced Ruth would be staying on until 3rd August but seems like they’re still not selling well. I’m just hoping it doesn’t mean that the show will close early. Also they really need to update the cast on the website because turns out Tricia Deighton and Anne Smith are staying for the rest of the run. Think it’s ridiculous they haven’t updated the website.

I thought Alexandra would be good in the role, I still am planning a return trip but I’m enjoying reading the comments.

I did think she sounded a bit pitchy in the videos I saw of the tour she did but I was willing to give her another go. Based on her recording of Sister Act and videos on Instagram she does sound better but I know that’s only my opinion.

Having seen Lizzie Bea in Hairspray and now this, I find her acting choices to be very questionable. Yes she can hit the right notes (most of the time) when singing, but her acting has made both Tracy Turnblad and Mary Robert a caricature of a person.

I don't think for Sister Act it's her fault - the Broadway rewrites and the direction of this production turned EVERYONE into a caricature so I think she's only doing what she and the rest of the cast have been told to do (which I guess is...mug for all it's worth)

Although this may be true, in Hairspray I found that when she wasn't speaking or singing she went into standby mode until she had to do something again and I felt like she did the same thing in Sister Act.

I personally find the directing/acting more broad in this production than what was on Broadway, but that was a long time ago so caveats of memory aside.

Does anyone know if there’s another press night of the show? Bradley Judge (who plays TJ) put on his Instagram stories that tonight’s a second gala performance so I don’t know if it’s press night for Alexandra and Lee’s run?

Press Night for Alexandra is tomorrow I believe (18th) Alexandra’s press night was last night. It was due to be today but it clashed with Kiss Me Kate’s press night so they moved it back a day. Very receptive audience and a standing ovation as soon as the first set of nuns appeared for the bows. There was a small show stop when the buggy that brings the pope across the stage got stuck, but this was quickly rectified after about 5 minutes or so. Thought Alexandra was on fire!

Is Lee Mead good as Eddie? Haven’t heard anything about his performance on here.

Interesting that, during the curtain call, the singing bit with the high note in "Raise your voice" has now been taken by Lizzie Bea (used to be sung by Beverley)...

I think I will need to go again, simply to see Lee Mead in the role. I can't imagine it at all.

Did they change the key for the Fabulous Baby for Burke again? I noticed it was different for the trailer they put up on their Instagram.
