The Olivier is pretty safely Lara's. Mrs H isn't eligible until 2017, so Emma can be a contender then. Hopefully people will remember the show by the time nominations for 2017 are revealed. Are we sure about that? Seeing this tonight. I know nothing! Exciting! I believe eligibility ends on 16th Feb and they need 30 performances. Do previews even count as performances where awards are concerned?

Well Beautiful was eligible and opened in previews on February 10, 2015. Preview do count as it didn't actually open until February 25, 2015. So Mrs. Henderson Presents should, in theory, be eligible.
And I wouldn't be so sure Lara is a lock.

I can't see Kinky or Beckham getting that one.

According to twitter, some changes are going in tonight with the music so will be interesting to go back and see the changes. And also, fun fact, Jon Jon Briones was in the audience last night!

Do previews even count as performances where awards are concerned? The way they word it is quite confusing - they don't need to have done 30 performances before the cut off date, they just need to be scheduled to do at least 30 performances. It was the same thing with Beautiful last year.

I hope it isn't eligible as it'll lose out to other shows I fear this year.

I tend to like listening to the score before seeing something new. I did it with Grand Hotel and Stephen Ward and found it really helped my enjoyment of those shows. If i'm slightly familiar with the music I find it easier to take in everything else that's happening. Maybe it's just my age!!!

I never pre-order, I find it gets cheaper, once it is released, when secondary sellers come in.

A few thoughts before bed…it needs work, but it's tight for a second preview. My biggest gripe was the score. It's so…meh. Having checked the programme, I found that the composers have never written a musical score before. It needed something, and I left remembering none of the songs.
Tracie Bennett and Ian Bartholomew were the stand-outs, with Matthew Malthouse and Samuel Holmes closely behind.
A warm, but not overly enthusiastic response tonight - jokes mostly fell flat. The biggest laugh being the joke about Mrs Henderson having sex with men.
I want to revisit it again soon and see if it gets better. It's encouraging to see so much money spent on a new musical - so much set!!!

The trouble, I agree, is that the score, barr a couple of songs I am still singing, is so-soo... especially when the final song is as amazing as it is, it makes you realise the rest is passable. it is all good, but nothing standout bar one or two songs.

This, unfortunately, sounds very much like all the other British musicals that saw the light of the West End in recent years

I hate to say it but I cannot see this running. No one has raved about it and it has no big names to sell it. Plus every song I've heard has been very dull

Yes it is a limited run at the moment but this means nothing commercially. If it does not find an audience it will close early or if it is a success it will extend.
I have to say that the first preview audience (which I thought was full of supportive friends/families/agents etc.) were warm in their appreciation of the show but nothing like the audience reaction at the preview of Kinky Boots I attended where the audience went wild for the show. From that reaction alone I knew KB was going to be a hit! I did not get the same vibe (unfortunately) from Mrs Henderson.
