Saw the show yesterday afternoon, I thought the show was better than when I saw it in Bath. However, the problems with the show in my opinion (already mentioned on here by others) still remain. Namely the show should really shift focus in the second act on Emma Williams and what happens to Maureen, instead of spending so much time with Mrs Henderson and Vann Damm.
Yesterday both the upper circle and balcony were closed.

Yesterday both the upper circle and balcony were closed.
And tonight again it seems, judging by the theatre website when I was booking tickets for someone.
Is there a certain irony in the fact that Mrs Henderson herself only became successful when the girls got their kit off, and this production appears to be less than sold out even when the girls DO get their kit off? (or maybe it's a paradox?)

Like everything else, nudity ain't what it used to be.

No, I was in the front row - they were naked.

I'm loving the attention to detail here. For 'science' naturally

I loved the show and intend to buy the recording. I thought Don Black's lyrics were brilliant as always and can't wait to hear them again. It's hard to take everything in at the show but remember thinking how clever and witty they were.

For example, could you see their lips move?

Next time Mallardo will actually be on the stage! Everyone's a cynic. What's wrong with a guy trying to broaden his outlook?

I'm sure flesh coloured underwear is used but they are naked at least top half Well naked ladies are not really my bag and I can safely say that my experience with them in the nuddy is limited (read "non-existent") but they certainly didn't look like they had flesh coloured undies on from where I was sitting.

I'm sure flesh coloured underwear is used but they are naked at least top half Just wondering what makes you so sure? Were you sitting close enough? Do you have good eyesight? Have you seen naked women before? As sitting in the second row I could say they were totally genuinely 100% naked. Just as a proof of my experience: I used to work in the shows that had these "pretending to be naked" costumes, I know how bare women look like and I can easily say if there is one of the other.

So, since I missed Emma Williams the first time I saw MHP, I felt it was my duty to reclaim my front row seat (embarrassingly, the conductor remembered me) and see the show again with the full first team. What a difference Emma makes! Suddenly everything was working and I was loving it. The eleven o'clock number, If Mountains Were Easy To Climb, had me leaking tears although, thankfully, I was able to recover in time for the fan dance. There's just nothing like star power to enhance a show.
So I'm now regretting a lot of the negative things I said about it earlier. Not all of them - I still think the show needs less of the two leads and more of the girls - but most of them. The score, for instance, is MUCH BETTER than I thought it was, the best score for a British musical since Love Story (which, coincidentally, also starred Emma Williams). I'm really hoping this show has a life, it deserves it.
