A real shame and quite a problem for the BBC. I wonder if they will just carry the scores forward to next week. Shame they cant use musicals week to fill the gap in the programme with a performance or two but it's a bit late. And as for the 'live" results show...

Cracked rib isn't likely to heal in time for him to compete next week.
So we will see how this pans out

No I didn't expect them to put Nigel into next week at this late stage of the competition, even if he were able to dance. But they could just score the others this week and carry all totals over, rather than eliminate anyone. Anyway we will see.

As far as I understand Nigel has had to pull out of the series. To give a bye to last week's lowest scorer would have been unfair too. I guess they carry the voting forward to next week.
They can do a review of tonight's dances later on tonight when they record the results show. They can pad that out by possibly getting the musical act to do an extra number or maybe self proclaimed funniest man in the room Anton does a turn. They can cut time from the show with previews of Beeb Xmas schedule or next week's Dr Who etc.

I’m not suggesting it’s the case for a minute but if I were Nigel I would have realised I was just “fodder” and faked an injury to f*** the beeb producers off. It is so clearly a fix.

That was a show dance not a Paso. No matter how well staged, it was not a Paso.

When Bobby gets 9s despite the lifts being a mess it seems odd to get bothered by Layton at least managing to be worth watching.

For Good is a lovely song that's pretty easy to sing well if you learn the timing properly. Tonight's version was bloody terrible.

I found tonight all quite anti climatic. Laytons dance was good but they weren’t dancing together enough, it was like the pro dance at the start of a show. Ellie and Vito spent half of it not dancing, bobbys “nobody puts baby in the corner” made the whole thing cringe, and the lift was rubbish, Annabels dance was just a bit boring. Also, don’t they usually do 2 dances in the quarter? I know Nigel was meant to dance but it just seemed padded out.

A shame Nigel has had to leave the competition. I personally think they should have just finished the whole thing a week earlier.
Ellie and Vito - I enjoyed their character work. Found the other dancers slightly distracting.
Annabel and Johannes - a lovely dance that did reflect their friendship. Didn’t deserve to be bottom of the leaderboard.
Layton and Nikita - excellent and I think they really deserve the first 40 of the series.
Bobby and Dianne - not great, quite an awkward routine I felt. It’s a tricky song since it is so well known and everyone is waiting for the lift, which unfortunately wasn’t great so how anyone thought it deserved a 9?!
Did we all spot Strictly fan Tom Hiddleston in the audience? 😊

Did we all spot Strictly fan Tom Hiddleston in the audience? 😊 Yes! And I can’t remember where I saw him talking about it in the last week, was it Graham Norton or the one show or something?

Michael Bennett and Bob Avian will be spinning in their graves with both Strictly and It Takes Two crediting their work on A Chorus Line to Fosse.

He was on radio 2 with Zoe Ball - a clip was shared to their socials and it was shown on It Takes Two last week when Ellie and Vito were on.

"Hello. Is that Fisherman's Friends: The Musical? It's Strictly Come Dancing here. We've got five minutes to fill on tonight's show. I know it's really short notice, but you couldn't put something together for us, could you?"

Strictly Spoiler still did their poll yesterday
Ellie and Vito 34.50% (16267 votes) Annabel and Johannes 26.85% (12660 votes) Bobby and Dianne 23.03% (10861 votes) Layton and Nikita 15.63% (7369 votes)
They also did a poll as who people wanted in the final
Ellie and Vito 32.10% (20808 votes) Annabel and Johannes 26.98% (17485 votes) Bobby and Dianne 26.61% (17248 votes) Layton and Nikita 14.31% (9277 votes)
It doesn't appear that Nigel's votes are likely to transfer to Layton

Whoever thought it was a good idea to have Bobby sqwawking “Nobody puts baby in the corner” at the start of that… shame on you.

No. More. Show. Dances. They always used to be saved for the final but Layton has done one the last six weeks.
…and no more whiney, playing the victim.
Does anyone know which theatre they were in at the beginning ?

Maybe because I'm a male and not British but I (genuinely) I just do not get the love and affection for the Dirty Dancing film!
The stage show was one of the worst things I've seen in my life.

So is Layton gonna do the full female part in their rumba next week?

What was that dirge that Joss Stone sang?
That won't have sold a single ticket to that show.

Dirty Dancing has always been a very popular film in the UK I assume mainly the female audience liking the late great Patrick Swayze. It had a couple of good songs and has now become one of those "hen party" musicals which more mature middle aged ladies who liked the film first time around may still attend.
The lift and the line are iconic moments but do they need to do it almost every year in Strictly.
I haven't watched the dances fully yet but the above comments seem to be on the money as usual.

No. More. Show. Dances. They always used to be saved for the final but Layton has done one the last six weeks. I can't believe Layton's the only one getting slammed for this after Ellie & Vito literally performed on an opening scene from a show, for which Ellie spent half the routine just walking around with a book or being twirled by backing dancers. Musicals Week is a showy week and that's fine. I thought the Paso rocked. Nikita is becoming such a mad scientist with his choreography and I'm here for it. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he's directing the backing dancers like..."Yes, yes, drag Layton across the floor while he's in the splits and then throw him over my head."

It's really frustrating to be labelled a hater or homophobic for not being a fan of Layton's weekly show dances.

I can’t remember, is the winner determined purely from the public vote? Yes Thanks, so on that basis he isn’t going to win it and assuming he and Nikita know that maybe they’re just having as much fun as they can with it.
