Would this play be worth seeing on one of the days that Joseph Fiennes is not performing (no disrespect to the alternate who doesn’t seem to be listed as yet)? Does his performance make the play, or is the play itself worth viewing without this very well-reviewed performance? (Or perhaps should make more of an effort to try and make one of the regular shows…)

£15 pitch-side seats across all performances. Experience the Dear England action from the front row at the Prince Edward Theatre.
I want grab that one but well 153 cm they said nope dear not for yours neck 🥺🥺(consider cheapest ticket already sold out on date i can go buu)

If you were buying a ticket for your godson who is desperate to see Jo Fiennes, would you book the Saturday matinee or evening? He doesn’t seem to miss many oerformances and he’s scheduled for both that day, but I’d like best chance just in case.

Fantastic transfer and front row centre is the perfect seat. The stage is very high, but no worse than at the National. Almost everything is played at the front. Lots of new faces, but they didn’t put a foot wrong.
There were long queues to get in, but still done by 9:50pm.
The stage curves, so the outer front row is further from the stage and much less of a restricted view if that’s an issue.
A very polite audience too, so my fears were unwarranted (at least for the first preview). Plus, my favourite Kenyan dancer was there somewhere too, but I didn’t manage to spot him.
I think the show was largely as before, but others will know better. Only thing that stood out to me was the penalty scene in act 2 which felt different, but that may just be my memory. All very tight, and apart from some moaning Americans on the way out who presumably weren’t expecting football to be featured, highly recommended.
I must say, I wasn’t sure if I would return but the ticket deal drew me back. I’m glad I did and I will likely attend again.

This is a successful transfer. Plenty of new cast members, I do miss the old Harry Maguire though. I was in the third row and I have 4 more visits in that row (plus one in the lodges) and I think I will change to further back in the stalls as it was just a little too much to look up. No way would I sit in the first row, the stage is higher than the NT and I was second row there and felt I had neck ache. I am 5’2” which doesn’t help.

What are the changes in terms of staging? I central ramp on the stage, now entrances and exits at the sides of stage as there was at the NT, all exits via the wings. The Gary Lineker bits are done centre stage whereas at NT kt was done from the side circle (not sure how to describe it). I can’t remember anymore, but I think there were some other differences |

Did Gina McKee do an Aussie accent at the NT? Can’t imagine her being able to do an accent.. she struggles with the acting bit enough.

No - why would she do an Aussie accent? Does this mean youv'e not seen this yet? Oh I've just read Pippa Grange studied/lived in Australia but she was born in Harrogate she emigrated when she was 25 so I guess she kept her English accent. dervla was aussie i think |

Gina McKee used her normal accent at the Olivier. I had no idea what the real Pippa Grange before I saw the show so was none the wiser.
