I’m surprised no additional casting has been announced for this yet.

Cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway tomorrow night for the End of the Show Show And still no full casting announcement. How odd. Cast announced on Mayflower Theatres socials....but oddly I can't see a childcatcher listed, have they cut the character completely? Or merged with the Toymaker (which would seem a bit odd) http://instagram.com/p/C40wtYMKEgH

Either way I can’t see them cutting the character, he’s what most people think of when they think of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Weirdly Elaine C Smith is listed on the website as Childcatcher for the Scotland dates but there is no mention of the role for other dates. Very odd

I feel it will be more venue-specific - Like Elaine C Smith.

It opens in a month, why wait. Seems so late to be announcing, especially not with the rest of the cast announcement. Just seems an odd strategy. Usually the childcatcher is one for ticket sales.

Ellie Nunn will be a lovely Truly - I was probably going to give this a miss but I'll be going now.

Would seem they are wanting to get name for the child catcher..leaving it a bit late to announce it. Let’s hope it’s someone with the capability to give a good performance.

I’m the same age as Adam Garcia and suspect that I might have died performing that. He can’t have even had new knees because he wouldn’t have that level of mobility. 😑🙄 Good on him!

I’m sure that will sell a few tickets. Not to me though.

Chitty is fun if someone has thrown a bit of money at it...this does not look like that.

Adam has amazing dancing ability and energy for a guy who is 50 years old. Liam Fox playing his father in law and the children's Grandad is only 3 years older than Adam. Although in the film Lionel Jeffries was younger than Dick Van Dyke!

It looked like everyone was making it up as they went along. Adam and the cast included.

Not my kind of show, but Adam looked incredible, can't believe he's 50.

Just looked at the website for this show and there is no-one else listed as playing the Childcatcher around Elaine who is only doing the Scottish venues. This seems a bit disrespectful to the performer who will be playing the role for the majority of the tour.
Given the role was originated by the great Sir Robert Helpmann surely someone with a good dance pedigree would be ideal for this role?

Slightly off topic, but sticking with the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang theme (please correct me if I'm wrong) it is my understanding that there were several cars used in the film and as they're all vintage now, they have recreated a replica for the stage that can easily be transported from venue to venue and for advertising/media purposes to promote the show.

It's not been announced yet who is playing the role outside Scotland, which in itself is ridiculous as it opens in a month. The official chitty account has been replying to comments on social media saying 'look to the sky's for further announcements' (or something like that) so assume someone will be announced at somepoint. I can only assume they're having trouble getting a name for the role, ir they'd have announced by now.
