Saw this on Wednesday at Wimbledon and really enjoyed it. What I didn’t enjoy was the stream of late comers who obviously didn’t read their tickets to realise it started at 7
Was very distracting as there were about 5 or 6 groups that were brought in separately about 15-20 minutes in. Especially annoying was the woman a few rows in front who spent a good few minutes sorting out who was sitting where because certain kids didn’t want to sit next to other kids. Considering you were 20 minutes late just sit down and sort it at the interval 😡
Adam and Ellie were great but thought Charlie could have been utilised a lot more
Would recommend but please check the start time on your ticket!! 😉

Is there any reason it starts early? Does it run particularly long?
I nearly went to see it in Southampton but the 1900 start meant i couldn't quite get it to work timings wise.

It's 2hrs 40 and 7pm is probably better for families as it means you're out and on your way home by 10pm

How different is the show now compared to the original 2002 version/production? The Palladium production was my entire childhood. I lived for it, wore out the making-of VHS and adored the cast album. What's the show like now? Any major changes/differences?

I saw this on Wednesday at NWT! Seeing how I knew nothing about it, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it immensely!

What are the ATG offers in Manchester for this please? I might go to both this and Mary Poppins with family, and wondering whether to renew my card for the first time since before Covid! I'm quite tempted by Calam as well, so think it might be worth it.
RIP half price first night tickets though...

Ellie Nunn has a lovely clear voice and makes a great lead alongside the wonderful Adam Garcia. Charlie Brooks did well with the direction/costume/make up she was given but looked like she'd wandered in from a different show - the outfit wouldn't have been out of place in Cabaret. I don't remember the Child Catcher part being that small so didn't really make an impact. The car is the star - no entrance applause in Newcastle though. 3 stars, as it didn't all land with me - mainly the 'comedy' parts.

Finally got to see the lovely Adam Garcia on stage in Newcastle today where his star quality shone through . An excellent performance. Ellie Nunn was perfect casting as Truly and Liam Fox was a very good Grandpa. Charlie Brooks as The Childcatcher wasn’t on much as others have said but she was very good. The children were Gracie Cochrane and Roshan Thomson both excellent. I did notice “Van’s Dyke” on the signpost as a lovely tribute to Dick Van Dyke. Special mention to Jenny Gayner with her comedic performance of the Baroness. Loved the show and didn’t feel like the 2hrs 40 mins it was. An excellent 4 stars from me.

The Vivienne to join the tour as the child catcher This'll be fun - Viv got great reviews in that Panto Wizard of Oz that's doing the rounds, so this will work well for Childcatcher tbh

But if you book now you can get a fiver off with the Early Bird offer, no card needed. for Poppins opening night is £7 off, midweek a fiver off. No early bird. Both of the above are for second price front stalls.

Cancelled this week in Milton Keynes - not sure how true, but I’m hearing it’s due to damage a crucial bit of scenery.

I'm laughing at the number of people on Facebook saying they should have a spare, sounds like they would expect them to have a whole spare Chitty setup!

Fair enough, as they haven't announced details of which exact parts been bent/broken I don't know whether its cased, jigged or rolled straight in I hope Chitty is better soon and if not I know a bloke with one for hire

The touring Chitty and flying rig together weigh around 6 tonnes - it's a hefty piece of kit, and definitely not something the producers could keep a spare of in their back pockets ;-)

Due to the technical issues with the car, the producers have managed to sort out a short term replacement -
