I would love to petition for more Thursday matinées. Most current shows seem to go for the Wednesday option whereas a bit of a mix allows those of us who live outside London to visit on a Wednesday - Thursday and nail 4 shows on a trip.
I'm currently looking to do that in August and all of the shows I want to see have Wednesday matinées which leaves me with a slot I can't fill (if you'll pardon the expression) on Thursday afternoon.

I've found a good balance recently tbh. Theatremonkey suggests its currently 21 on a Wednesday and 19 on a Thursday. What I'd really like is more Tuesdays (currently only Mousetrap, Mincemeat and Southwark Playhouse) and Fridays (currently only Choir of Man and Mormon).

Not a single show on the Monday I want to see a matinee (albeit can see why not as perhaps wouldn't be a popular day and especially now more shows doing Sundays) |

Yep. If you look on TodayTix for first week in June, 15 Wednesday matinees and 27 on Thursday! |

I'll have to check this list out.. all 4 of the shows I had in mind have Wednesday matinées (Dear England, Patriots, Accidental Death of an Anarchist and The Pillowman).

If you're looking for a play, those with Thurs matinees in August include Brokeback Mountain, Crown Jewels, Witness for the Prosecution, Mousetrap, The Crucible and Bleak Expectations. If a musical A Strange Loop or Guys & Dolls would get my vote! |
