What? Nicole has done workshops of the show.. is doing Chicago and Broadway. Or was your comment aimed at someone else? I'm agreeing with you and disagreeing with the person who thought she wasn't going to do the out of town tryout and therefore would be able to bring Sunset to New York. (A show that hasn't even begun previews, so nobody knows if she'll give a praiseworthy performance or not. ) Oh sorry ! |

It could mean very little. This intimacy director has these previous credits:
"As Intimacy Coordinator: For the National: The Effect and Phaedra. In London's West End: TINA: The Tina Turner Musical".
I didn't see any of those, so can't say if there was much explicit sex depicted in them.
Sunset's end of Act 1 is usually as intimate as it gets, but I wouldn't mind if the tango turns into something a bit more dangerous. New ways to.... tickle with a feather fascinator.

Just looked at ATG and am amazed at how badly sold it is. The first week is busy, but after that- a hell of a lot of tickets left.
Maybe NS isn’t the draw that they were expecting. This will need rave reviews judging by these sales.

Just looked at ATG and am amazed at how badly sold it is. The first week is busy, but after that- a hell of a lot of tickets left. Maybe NS isn’t the draw that they were expecting. This will need rave reviews judging by these sales. Unnecessary hyperbole. It’s sold averagely to well depending on day of week. Pick any date and compare to most other musicals and its advance sales are fine. Considerably better than Aspects of Love. Only the very few tourist trap juggernauts come close to selling out in advance since the coronavirus. |

The more I read about the show the less excited I am to see it. Have my ticket already though, so I'll go anyway not expecting much. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

In fairness you'd expect at LEAST previews for a show like this, with a star as famous as Nicole to have sold very well and it hasn't, so Mr Barnaby is right...

I think another factor is the fact that its barely been off over the last ten years in one form or another. So they may think that they are radically reinventing it for a new generation, but until it has been reviewed I think a lot of folks are hanging fire.

Just had an email from TodayTix promoting £30 lottery tickets.
Details state the Lottery will open up for entries every week, Monday 12:00am and close on Wednesdays at 1:00pm. Winners will then be notified Wednesday afternoon for the following week's performances.

Ugh I literally said weeks ago there is no set. To play devils advocate though- I don’t remember anyone complaining that there wasn’t a huge elaborate set for Come from Away…. Or Once… or Hamilton even. It doesn’t mean the show will be great if it has tons of scenery. |
