It was referenced (with the 5,000 tickets info) when the show was first announced. They've just not put it on sale until now. Ah okay, then I apologize for my misplaced cynicism and say, well done.

If anyone wants to listen to the Nicole interview while the show is on live, interview started at around 8:17am for this mornings Zoe Ball Breakfast show.
Zoe Ball said she couldn't wait to see the set, with Nicole responding "It's not what you expect" goes on to mention the reactions to the broadway set "That's not our set, the set as Jamie Lloyd would say is in your mind, it's inside. So it's very minimal, very stripped back. But we're adding some new things, Jamie is adding some new elements"
Nicole goes on to confirm the use of cameras though.

Got my 2 tickets in row D - the friend who I'm going with is a Mental Health residential facility team leader. We'd already talked about seeing Sunset, but she was baulking at the prices, so this couldn't have come at a better time. She is going to show her "blue light badge" on the day, so hopefully that'll be sufficient?! Or maybe she needs something with her name/photo on.... Blue Light Card does have the holder's name on it. No photo though, but the Sunset website doesn't stipulate photo ID. In my experience of using the card in a retail store, if they want to make an additional check, they normally ask you to show another card (debit or credit card for example) in the same name. To be extra confident your friend can prove she's the BLC holder, she could take a driving license or passport of course.
Thanks very much. I'll pass that on. She's coming all the way down from Sunderland, so we wouldn't want to be disappointed!

“the set as Jamie Lloyd would say is in your mind”
Gonna use that on my landlord on the first. The rent, as you say, is in your mind.

I wonder if they will really ask for ID at the theatre. My partner is a teacher and we've used this scheme at least a couple of times before, but they never asked for the ID although he had it with him. I think last time it was for Betrayal with Tom Hiddleston. We had to collect the tickets from the box office, but they only ask for his name, not even the cc he used to book.
For Sunset Boulevard they are sending the tickets straight away. I doubt that Front of House staff will be checking IDs.

One of the best things about seeing the Glenn Close production on Broadway was the 'largest orchestra on Broadway' how will they replicate that at the Savoy? Space for all those strings!?

The sale this morning seemed too easy. Hope they accept that I am a keyworker and don’t turf me out. Maybe I’ll get there early so can run to the Adelphi if any issues. Already going earlier in the run with a friend and sitting in the gods so good to get 2 viewing points and 2 Normas!

One of the best things about seeing the Glenn Close production on Broadway was the 'largest orchestra on Broadway' how will they replicate that at the Savoy? Space for all those strings!? I know it's committing heresy in this parts to say this, BUT (and very much IMHO) I thought Sunset Boulevard sounded better from the pit orchestra at The Adelphi than the huge orchestra at the ENO (*runs for cover*). It's a different style of sound. The former is very musical theatre, the latter is more, well, orchestral I guess. The problem I found with the latter is a) that the conductor seems to want to play it more slowly and b) it somehow lacked oomf and was too gentle. VERY pretty, but too gentle (for me). But then I am very much a fan of the 14-16 piece musical theatre orchestration - I find it an ideal mix of "real" live orchestration and pre-programmed tracks. And I quite like the sound of real solo violin/viola/cello/bass playing over synthesised strings (which are SO good anyway in 2023). So yeah, it's not a problem that worries me for this production....

No one will care what it sounds like when Nicole is stood downstage centre holding a ring light and singing Just One Look whilst in a nice strappy top and sparkly leggings

NB just booked some row B Spotlight seats for a Saturday night just before Christmas.

Hi everyone. Have I done this correctly? I have booked a spotlight seat (that’s what it says on the ticket, along with ID checked on entry). I am a key worker. Is the spotlight seat the offer for under 30s or key workers? The offer seems too good to be true. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, the Spotlight seats are the £20 seats for both under 30s and key workers, so all sounds correct to me

She’s utterly bonkers. Can’t recall ever being so excited for a #strippedback (not historically my thing) production. Though bit worried for EP when Scherzy Cats repeats itself and ALW (inevitably) announces to the world that he’s NEVER heard it sung better…. You know it’s coming!
