I was fully erect for Betrayal (by Pinter) at the Pinter, somewhat distant but it was fine for the price - so standing with headphones .. I'm in!

They've also announced standing tickets available online at 10am every day and front row released at the box office at 10am every day, so if you're speedy you can still get in to this for cheap (and it's short so standing is fine - I did it at the Donmar) A return to old fashioned day seating! Genuinely looking forward to sitting in a cold, early morning queue with a coffee, chatting to other theatregoers. I've missed it.

Loved the early bird catches the worm mechanism when I lived in London and had days off to do this with, but it's definitely disadvantageous to several groups of people and I don't mourn it's general disappearance. When I was quoting earlier ticket prices I wasn't really bemoaning the situation, like everyone says there was an opportunity for cheaper seats when the whole thing went on sale. We all hate the prices that the west end has soared to, but it's a free market.

The queueing for gigs culture has also got extreme post-covid - wouldn't surprise me if there were people queueing overnight

I'm thinking queues will depend on day of the week & the weather (it won't be warm!), but I'd plan on being in the queue between 6 and 7 in the morning. And remember that on matinee days rush for both shows are released at the same time.

Something quite nice about the images of people day seat queuing - reminds me of the good old days!

Lots of tickets at different prices on ATG tickets now, just grabbed some! Thanks for the heads up! Most tickets were £100-£250 when I checked just now, barring the standing and box seats, but just managed to find a decent £80 stalls seat for this week. Had half given up hope of seeing this but looking forward to seeing what the fuss is about now.

Isn’t David Tennant one of the most vocal actors speaking out again ticket prices? He clearly doesn’t care that much if he’s allowing this to charge £250 a seat. And he does have the clout to dictate that this doesn’t happen on a show he’s appearing in.

The standing is on the balcony, is that right?

The standing is on the balcony, is that right? I think I saw standing tickets for both the balcony and the royal circle online earlier today, for today's preview. Don't know if the royal circle ones are sold out for the rest of the week that's been made available, or if it's a daily release like the front row day tickets.

I saw this today at the matinee and thought it was simply stunning. A strong cast and beautifully spoken verse combining with the minimal set for an excellent production which is flawless in my view. First time I've spent £100 on a ticket and felt that it was worth the money. I'd see it again tomorrow in a heartbeat.

Second visit, my better half couldn't make the Donmar so a repeat visit - albeit from the balcony (ow my back! fitting into those seats - ugh). A huge roar as the lights came on at the end with David Tennant - looking like a man who has now done that twice today and taking a breath - standing up just before the rest of the cast come on. And well deserved too. Has translated nicely to the Pinter, the sound is still the sound and the staging works pretty well. Cast, in particular Tennant and Jumbo playing to the circles and balcony, a lot of good looking around and up. Big cheers by the stage door within I reckon two minutes and Tennant did appear. Signed along a large line for a few minutes and then having spotted a lady in a wheelchair, broke away from his security, came around behind his car and away from the signing line for a chat with her and to sign her programme. Now even more impressed by him.

Has anyone queued for the day tickets yet? Wondering what time I would need to get there! Also, does anyone know how many are released?

Tomorrow (Tue 8/10), much of the front 2 rows of the balcony (and the balcony standing) are available. £25/£35 or £20 standing. (I wonder: do they release so many balcony seats back up often at short notice - or is this a press night and an unused allocation?).
Good opportunity for anyone who can see at short notice and wanted a cheaper option.

I was specifically wondering if anyone has queued for the front row seats yet? Thanks for the other info though - useful if I decide against a super early start.
