Have they announced any of the other casting yet or is it being sold purely on Branagh's participation ? I refer you to my theory this is a one man Lear...

I got my tickets for this.
Wouldn't they have announced if it's a one man version. It would be a unqiue and fascinating production and a major selling point.

There was a one-man King Lear only a couple of years ago. There have been at least two high-profile one-man Macbeths and Eddie Izzard is threatening us with a one-person Hamlet. Only Othello to go.

Re the ticket price comment further up this thread - I think it's worth bearing in mind (as a wider point) that west end casts and crew just secured a 16.5% pay rise and that money is going to have to come from somewhere, and I can assure you the only place it will come from is the ticket prices

Just worth highlighting. That money is only going to come from one place: the ticket buying public.

If the cheapest stalls seats are £85ish, how expensive are the other stalls seats please? And are prices essentially comparable in dress circle?
(Someone else is booking for me tomorrow as I’m in work calls all day, and unless I give Very Strict Instructions, I’ll end up with nothing at all!)

(Someone else is booking for me tomorrow as I’m in work calls all day, and unless I give Very Strict Instructions, I’ll end up with nothing at all!) £175 for "premium" seats, £150, £125 for best stalls/dress front. However, if you know the Wyndhams, the price difference between stalls row D and E is not an extra £40 per ticket. My advice is to aim for the £85 bracket if this is affordable to you. I appreciate that prices are high these days for most shows so apologise if I'm generalising a little about pricing - as we know, times are tight for many.

We're not going to see dark theatres. It's hard enough for producers to secure these venues.

Thanks ceebee! Yes, I reckon an £85 seat will do fine - though I could probably stretch to £125 if the (slightly) cheaper ones have gone on the dates I can do. (I rarely go to the theatre now, so the money saved helps a bit with the post-Covid increase in prices for things I really want to see.)

New tickets are being released for each phase of sales to try and ensure a fair distribution (i.e. unlike the Donmar Macbeth which sold put to members in 15 mins, tickets are being held back for members, priority and general sale.) Hope you get the ticket you want!

Got held in the queue for a while, but easy to get the cheap seats when I got through.

Hope all the emails have now arrived. I got mine at noon, had a half hour queue but easily got the ticket I wanted. There seemed to be plenty of availability and prices I think slightly higher than Long Day's Journey into Night, £5 higher for my ticket.

Shouldn’t really use phones in work, but as I was finishing at half past I nipped off to one of the few areas with a signal and clicked on the link, just to get a place in the queue. Was expecting 12000 or for it to sell out, but was number 1030. By I got back online there were only about 70 people in front and was booked within a couple of minutes.
Booking was a bit slow but otherwise very impressed with how smoothly it all went.

Got my tickets. That was stressful. I used my phone and the website constantly bugged out and didn't display properly on Safari. Utter mess. Then there was constant loading - it took nearly 5 minutes for the card payment to go through (it was stuck on "0% Do not refresh this page")
Very stressful!

Got my email at 12.40 as well. At that point I was 478 in the queue and told queue would take about 40 minutes. Actually moved quite quickly and got to the front in about 25 minutes, but having been told it was my turn and that I would now be redirected to the booking pages - I wasn't and was just told my session had been timed out. So had to start all over again at the back of the queue where I was 1600 +. Another 35 minutes wait but finally got in and booked.
At least the queue is moving quicker than predicted and as of 20 minutes ago there did seem to be reasonable availability, albeit maybe not at the lower prices.

I just tried and was 6000 something in the queue but it put me through straight away, so if anyone is struggling, might be worth starting again

The play will run for two hours with no interval. I know I can go way more than two hours without needing to use the bathroom, but why is it whenever it's a show with no interval I panic and think I need to go within minutes 🤣

It was. Just booked. Having gone thru all the dates looking for end of row in stalls I switched to circle and lo and behold, end of row. I didn’t have any waiting. Maybe I’m going to a different Lear in a parallel world. O no, ridiculous price so must be this world. A two hour Lear should be fun. Will they just talk fast or severely edit?

Like others, a little bit of a panic when noon came and went with no email. But success in the end!
