Just noticed that James B Wilson's 1922 which was supposed to debut last year but postponed because the Last Night of the Proms was cancelled due to the Queen's death is debuting at this year's Last Night.
Wonder if those who booked last year's Last Night will be able to have their tickets honoured or will have all been refunded?

Hardly any ballet either.
It looks like they've added an extra one for the BBC Singers, which I'm pleased about.

Not loads, but I'm sure I've seen more scattered through before in the "introduction to classical" (or whatever they call them) ones. Probably because they're quite accessible? There's only The Firebird this year, but I suppose it gets a full one to itself.

Just been watching the Northern Soul Proms on BBC. What a great concert. Northern Soul was my era although I wasn't really a follower of the music. I remember I was about 16 and worked behind the bar of the "nighclub" in our local Cornish Town. Every Monday it was Northern Soul night so got to hear all the music and watching tonight brought back memories of songs I've not heard in nearly 50 years. Great to see both the young and not so young dancing away at the Albert. Well worth a watch.

I went to the Proms for the first time I had seats opposite the orchestra and singers but was a long way off. For my second prom I was about half way down the side and was able to hear the performance much better.
