This is transferring from BAM to the Longacre later this month (very quick turnaround). Anyone seen this yet? I've booked a ticked for May when I am in NYC. Very happy the Broadway transfer coincided with my trip as I was disappointed I would have missed it at BAM. Looking forward to seeing Oscar Isaac in a production for the first time too.

It’s transferring to the James Earl Jones theater. I saw it at BAM and thought it was fascinating. A real period piece of 1960(ish) NYC. It’s a very long play at around 3 hours and it does drag at points but I found it overall worth seeing. Also, reading a bit about the history of the play helps put some of it in perspective.

Oops, sorry, I booked Leopoldstadt at Longacre as well and mixed them up. Not sure how to amend the thread title! Looking forward to seeing TSISBW. I'll definitely read up on it beforehand as I'm not familiar with it at all.

Excellent production of a slightly flawed play. Well worth seeing despite it being a tad sluggish at points.

I have the opportunity to see this now on a work trip next month (between this and Good Night Oscar). Hadn’t clicked it was by the same playwright as Raisin in the Sun so leaning more towards this now depending on their rush policy.

You are in a win-win situation with those options.

Agree with the sluggish comments but overall I still really enjoyed this. I had to read up on the history after just to piece a few things together which helped. The standout for me was Miriam Silverman who delivers a hilarious performance, for which she has earned a well deserved Tony nomination. I also had no idea Robert De Niro's son was in this (Julian De Niro) but he also gave a very good performance.

I also really enjoyed this last weekend. Thought the writing was very strong and great performances, even if it lost its way a little in the second act. Very surprised Oscar Isaac didn’t get a Tony nom, but that said thrilled for Miriam Silverman - she was brilliant.
It does make you wonder what amazing works Lorraine Hansberry would have gone on to write had she not been tragically taken by cancer so young.
