I saw this in the big purple cow at the Fringe this summer and it was great. But just back from seeing it at Manchester HOME and wow! So much better as a two act show with more breathing space and room for extra character backstory. Also the new set is terrific and really gave the show its own identity. Bronte and Bex are beyond perfect in the titular roles and Jodie Jacobs regularly steals the show. Funny throughout but also full of heart. A real tribute to friendship.
Beyond this tour, surely the next stop for this show is off-West End? It could be a real cult comedy hit. Definitely worth a second viewing.

Wessex Grove is one of the producers so I would imagine a further life is on the cards.

The new set they have for the expanded production is really elaborate and expensive looking. I'm not expert on such matters but it didn't seem like something you'd invest in just for their two short runs in Bristol and Manchester. I'm sure they mean to continue this show. Only question is, where next?

I always wanted to see this, yesterday after listening to the tracks I discovered its set in my home town. Even better! Yay!

It's brilliant. My best theatre decision of the year was to arrange a trip to Bristol the previous afternoon to see the final Thursday matinee. I somehow realised I had overlooked it, read the reviews and saw the casting. Memories of Newsies and Oklahoma! (Bronte and Rebecca are both faves) meant that although I had another show booked in London on Thursday I decided to miss that, booked a seat in the pit at the Bristol Old Vic for Kathy and Stella .. and a return ticket on National Express. I set off for Bristol by coach in the dark on Thursday morning.
It ticks every box for me, perfect casting, hilarious and heart-warming, impressive staging, a proper story with an ending I certainly didn't expect and a soundtrack that is strong enough to stand alone.
London should be calling and a potential hit show .... though I thought the same when I saw What's New Pussycat at the Birmingham Rep almost exactly two years ago so what do I know ?

Saw this in Manchester today. Absolutely loved it, best show I've seen in a long time. Fantastic cast, i mean, FANTASTIC, wonderful music and lyrics and great story. I'm a harsh critic, but i just LOVED everything about this. I very rarely go and see something twice in the same run, but I might go back next week before it ends.

I think Ambassadors, Criterion or the Trafalgar would be good.

I am at tomorrow's matinee. I'm really looking forward to this now after all the positive reviews posted and having a listen to the released songs.

Absolutely loved this from start to finish at today’s matinee viewing and for £10 at the back of the stalls was an absolute steal. Somebody needs to either get this on a full tour and/or find a home in the WE ASAP. For me it ticked all the boxes - a brilliant cast,(not a weak link amongst them) a really funny book with great songs ( I would get a cast recording for this show) and a lovely set design. A show with so much humour and heart. An easy 5⭐️ from me.
