Looks truly ghastly. Just the pictures are bringing out the "snob" buried in every fibre of my being!!!
I'll stick to the original recordings and music videos, which I adore!!

Press night is this coming Tuesday (confirmed by cast member Elliot Broadfoot on X). All being well I should be there.

Saw this on Tuesday evening, sat behind a group of jolly ladies in their 50’s clutching a pint in one hand and their vapes in the other, joyously singing out of tune to every recognisable song (there are a few I don’t think anyone recognised, and several that are repeated to death). Production values are pretty high, I was a little surprised, and the lighting and sound were great. I would describe the show as the cast of Benidorm doing a production of Mamma Mia set in Turkey without the ABBA songs.

Any offers around on this? Thinking of going tomorrow afternoon and it’s very poorly sold but no reductions as of yet

Saw the show today, it's fun. I agree with others, it hasn't got the strongest of plots, but the cast are fantastic and make up for it, and the songs are well known and enjoyable. Sadly, too many middle aged women who have had a few too many wines, who think they can sing were present, at one point one did call out, but thankfully it was just the once. Poor Kylie's video did play while the mirror was still coming down, which meant the audio was out of sync and Lucy-Mae as Ella did look a little unfortable, but carried on and they turned the video video off so it was just Kylie's voice she was acting with.

Wow, the sales for this tomorrow afternoon are truly dire. Good chance to see the show with empty seats all around you though, rather than drunk audience members shouting out and singing along!

So many ‘sturdy’ MT names in this; hopefully it’ll pick up some word of mouth rather than Travelzoo-ing its way around the country before finishing early. Is it on the Royal Variety?

Are any of the lyrics rewritten to fit the plot? Actually does that happen in juke boxshows at all ? #naive

One of the lead character’s traits is that she loves Kylie wines, which she mentions twice. I was surprised she didn’t say “available to purchase from the bar in the interval.”

With lyric rewrites don't they have to be agreed by the songwriters or whoever controls their estate if deceased?
With officially endorsed shows like We Will Rock You - the surviving Queen members oversaw and approved any rewrites, same with Mamma Mia if there were any in there.
There have been cases where lyrics have been changed without permission and records were pulled or it ended up in court back in the day. I think even recording a cover version of a song has to be agreed as didn't Lou Reed stop Susan Boyle recording Perfect Day?
I don't know if this applies to songs when the gender was changed when a male artist recorded a song originally written for a female artist or vice versa or even if a profanity was changed/taken out etc?

I remember reading an interview with Judy Cramer which mentioned the lyrics in Mamma Mia. Apparently she was given permission to use the songs on the condition she didn't change any lyrics, so she got in various states of distress trying to make them fit the story, then in one rehearsal Benny suggested a change and she said 'But you told me I couldn't change anything!'
'Yes, but I can!' he replied.
