Is he still working on a Sherlock Holmes musical with Tim Rice? Or have I dreamt that entirely? If done (and marketed well) I could see that being a popular ticket-selling title...

Any rumours regarding the Duke of York's after R&J? Would be ideal for that revival of Lobby Hero that's meant to be coming in. Yes, that Lobby Hero rumour has all gone very quiet!

Totoro has definitely signed a contact for the GL. I have no specific insider info about future runs, but I noticed the NT had a meeting for "The Witches" last week, which would seem to indicate future life? i.ibb.co/SmqgCYt/IMG-6139.jpg

It'd have to downsize to fit in a mid-sized West End venue.

Possibly wild speculation but is there some corporate sponsorship coming in somewhere, perhaps Gillian Lynne? Say an airline with a big event (Palladium )and announcement week after next with an evening in GL for Sky's Edge afterwards. Venue sponsorship, or show sponsorship, something new. Anyone? It was indeed corporate sponsorship, Cathay Pacific Lounges at various LW Theatres.

XD I wonder what the Surprise Show at West End Live will be. It's wedged in at the start of the second day. Billed in the middle of slots with musicals like Hadestown, Heathers, Sky's Edge, The Wizard of Oz, Two Strangers, Closer to Heaven, etc. Any potential ideas or leads if this may lead to a new production announcement? Perhaps a new musical? A concert production? A cameo appearance? Andrew Lloyd Webber telling us to go to the Cathay Pacific lounge next time we fly? Literally keeping expectations rock bottom but would be interested to hear whatever goss people have

Fulfilling my duty to provide useless hype in this thread...!
Rumours of a transfer announcement soon in the next week or so, likely after the Tony's to get press material ready, but it is likely to be Stereophonic. I know I must be stating the obvious....

XD Yes at the Palladium - available to all Cathay members - you can join without flying, so potentially open to everyone if they're prepared. www.headforpoints.com/2024/06/15/cathay-lounge-london-palladium/

Here's hoping this is true. Would love to see Stereophonic. Oh incredibly likely it is the case. Usual people hinting strongly at it in all the usual places. It makes me wonder if it could be the "surprise show" at West End Live, possibly a live broadcast or a pre-recorded video after their announcement which could be coming fairly soon. I am not surprised by how many people scrolling through social media overwhelmingly want Beetlejuice or Sweeney Todd. It makes me wonder about the state of those two as they were both rumoured to transfer to a theatre like TRDL. Sweeney certainly was still making enough money to justify going on past a US tour.

The Lehman Trilogy is returning to the Gillian Lynne which will probably cause people to moan but the last run at the GL sold really well and if it's between Lehman returning to the GL or a dark theatre, the former wins every time.

Good to know! Loved this the last time round. Hopefully they cast another strong trio of brothers. Balogun, Fraser and Lindsay were outstanding.

Ends 05 Jan. Totoro isn't until 08 March which seems like an odd gap...

Totoro may require a bunch of backstage rennovation because the backstage of the Barbican and the backstage of the GL are very different. To fit all those sets and elements backstage will require some adjusting not only in scale.
They may also be doing up the theatre like they've done with Spirited Away to be in theme with the show.
They could also be doing a little tour stop we don't know about too, so who knows.

I suspect LW Theatres won't bother with a short term show.

I know there was a little bit of goss about a tour..? But I personally am just expecting a transfer to a smaller venue in the West End. It's definitely trying to transfer considering all the press stuff they were releasing... a week before it was closing!
So really, it's coming but who knows where or when.
