The current list of dates is here (and on their official site), but they say there’s more to be announced: www.ents24.com/uk/tour-dates/sooty-and-friendsI don’t know for sure, but the last tour had an after-show meet and greet with Sooty (which apparently adults are far more excited with than the kids!) so I hope they have it again.

Having had a lull in theatre going recently, it came to an end with a rare trip to my local theatre here in St Helens to watch today's show. So my 3000th board post comes with a review of the show. For 2 hours this was just pure fun with plenty to keep both the little 'uns and us big kids thoroughly entertained as we celebrated this iconic kids tv show. Quite honestly, I don't know who got more out of this, the kids or us adults as a trip down memory lane who watched Sooty and co as kids ourselves.
Getting a front row stalls seat was both a blessing and a curse as I found out. With no heads in the way so I could enjoy the show undisturbed, though I soon found out I was in the direct line of fire when the water pistols and super soakers made an appearance and along with a lot of other folk got a good drenching during the show. Whilst the audience got a good soaking, Richard Cadell didn't escape with plenty of foam pies coming his way as well.
Richard was excellent on stage making sure that there were plenty of jokes for the adults and did really well with the kids on stage along with tricks and party games from entertainer Michael Jordan. There plenty of music to get people on their feet and join in to celebrate Sooty's birthday, audience participation was a big part of the fun with everybody joining in.
Soo certainly had plenty of frock changes and would have given Julian Clary a good run for his money in the number of frocks on show.
In all, a really lovely trip to the theatre this afternoon so happy birthday Sooty and thanks for the memories.

How lovley and sweet to read. I have fond memories of Sooty at the Hull new theatre circa 1980 and the set was the deck of a ship - i loved it. Positive early years theatre experiences are so important for us.

Hopefully the kids who went onto the stage and those in the audience will have left with some great memories to hopefully tell their own families in the future.

Yes, but she will only sign show merch and doesn't do selfies. Sweep is more reclusive and tends to slip out through a side exit.

Erm… don’t wanna be that person but it’s not Sue, it’s Soo.
Thank you!
(Sweep was always my favourite, there was a hint of anarchy about him)

I would highly recommend going if you can. It is a wonderful celebration not only of Sooty, but of old school variety. The bit I loved most was when Richard performed a Harry Corbett routine word for word.

I remember the outrage and front page headlines when Sooty got a girlfriend! Interesting! I didn't know that Soo was initially introduced as Sooty's girlfriend! In all recent appearances since I was a child she was just a part of the group and being Sooty's girlfriend was never mentioned or made explicit.
