Is Broadway using the same costumes and wigs?
I assume they are.
Might want to run a bit of talc through Bonnie Langfords tights...

Haha, they are the same costumes as the London Revival; other than Tuggsr, who is back to the original, obviously a bit updated. So Leona wears the Nicole/Kerry/Jane/Beverley version of the Grizabella costume.

A new trailer for Broadway has been released, with Leona singing Memory. Also get a sense of both her acting and some of the new choreography... must say, intrigued by Jennyanydots being swung about on a giant mop and Gus coming out of an oven... hahaha.

In fairness it got a fairly decent review in the one that matters.
Seems a lot of angst from the other reviewers it was successful first time round and the public didn't heed their great advice.

Poor thing, they totally threw her to the wolves. I think she at least would have been treated with some indifference in London, but the New York critics loved to rip her apart.
I've heard a recording of her singing Memory, and she sounds pretty nice. She's a notch below Nicole in terms of sound and tone. But now that I see the clip in the trailer, she does seem a little stiff. We always knew that she had a nice voice but there's really little else in terms of anything she can offer.

Shame. I thought she was an odd choice (is she really that well known in America?) but she has a lovely voice as far as I'm aware.

I saw her on Friday. She has a great voice, but her acting was so wooden and flat, I thought was watching a popsicle stick. Granted, she was at least the second choice (after Nicole).
I happen to like CATS and she didn't ruin it for me at all as she can sing, but they could have gotten a better choice - Idina, Carolee, Marin maze...just about anyone really

Well it is doing well in ticket sales, so it does raise the question do they go star casting with her replacement ala Jane and Beverley or do they go down the musical theatre star ala Kerry and Anita?

Hoping for MT replacements, someone like Alice Ripley, Emily Skinner or Carolee Carmello

It is a real shame Leona isn't getting the great reviews, as Nicole I thought was phenomenal in the role! This has probably killed Leona's chances at a Tony nomination.

Hoping for MT replacements, someone like Alice Ripley, Emily Skinner or Carolee Carmello Have you heard Alice Ripley sing, um, in the last maybe ten years? Her voice is absolutely shattered. I doubt they'll go with Ripley or Carmello considering how they've cast it in London.

Jane McDonald and Anita Louise Combe are older than the London Grizabella's... so it is not unlikely they bring in an older person.

This has probably killed Leona's chances at a Tony nomination. I for one don't think that Grizabella is an award-worthy role.

This has probably killed Leona's chances at a Tony nomination. I for one don't think that Grizabella is an award-worthy role. I was rooting for Nicole to at least be nominated, as I loved her alot in it. But I was very shocked when I found out Betty Buckley actually won the Tony for the role! Remembering that they have added a little more for Grizabella in the revival, the part must of been tiny when Betty did it!

I wouldn't even say it's supporting. I think the Tony wording of Featured is alot more appropriate.
