Kicking myself I didn't book for this, especially after seeing Bev & the cast on the Oliviers the other night. There are a few top price seats available for Fri/Sat. Well worth what I paid - I really enjoyed this. In some areas it is so slick, witty and clever. Lyrically, I think it needs some tweaking, musically it is superb. So glad I took the plunge - I'd happily see it again. |

Old Vic still replying to people on Twitter saying there’s no plans for anything else……yet?

Was a response a few days ago - no current plans, future updates?

I think it has a future life but needs a good 2-3 week workshop to fix a lot of the narrative issues first. There's something solid in there, it just needs some serious restructuring in order to come out

Suffs is opening stateside... but Jay has uploaded an Instagram story of him and some castmates in a recording studio with the hastag #SylviaCastRecording So looks like it's happening! |

Yes, as thedrowsychaperone mentioned he put #SylviaCastRecording and posted a pic with other cast members, so it is definitely Syliva they are recording for. Although, I would also like to see a Suffs transfer!
Really enjoyed Sylvia when it was on and with a bit of workshopping would love to see it back, whether that's a West End run or tour who knows

Oh this is exciting news! I really rated this and would love to see it back. I can’t imagine they’d be doing a cast recording if there wasn’t at least a decent chance of a WE run.
I was actually rewatching the Olivier performance on YouTube the other day because I was thinking about Sylvia!

I remember thinking that this score was very special and needed to be preserved. I hope it’s happening. I’m not sure if the show overall was excellent, but the score was.

This IS exciting news!
I loved the show so it would be fantastic to hear it again on a cast recording, and even better to see it again in the West End. Presumably they wouldn’t be bothering to do a cast recording this long after the OV run ended if it wasn’t about to have a new lease of life?
As for Beverley, she has quite a few tour dates lined up through the summer and into September, but I’ve not seen any engagements confirmed after that.

I really didn't get the hype around this - i found it almost embarrassingly bad & left at the interval - however the joy of art is that everyone experiences it differently & im genuinely hopeful for a transfer for those of you who loved it so much!
