A friend who knows someone in the cast mentioned something about the set breaking and them having to rebuild the whole thing?! (Maybe they'll make it better...) Amusing, a poster did mention above the cursed thing looked of very poor build quality, quite separate to the hideous aesthetic. What a disaster.

So they were able to rebuild the entire set in one day?
Amazing.

Have they pushed back press night? Wasn’t it tomorrow? It’s no longer listed on the website, but it was previously. Or perhaps it was tonight? (Although 50% of the cast seemed to be out tonight according to West End Understudies).
You guys have no idea how desperate I am for this to do well. But I have no sympathy. How did no one say something during rehearsals? When the set was being built? When the concept art was created?
I’m not a huge Micky Jo fan, but his latest video says “you might be used to Rebecca with a capital R, but this could be more Becky”. 😂

That set design shouldn’t have gone further than a white box model. It’s like watching a show in dog vision. Hideous work

Maybe they should have spent less on the stupidly-large orchestra for that venue and more on the set.....and don't even get me started on the venues horrifically outdated website... using phrases such as 'The rest of the cast are: ' on their cast list for the show.

I understand they had people in yesterday trying to technically fix the set, but other than addressing basic movement issues, it will be hard for them to fix the fundamental design (unless someone is feeling very brave and dump it but they could need to cancel most of the week if they make any major changes). As others pointed out, it’s odd it got this far. Even if the design was good, Glory Ride was out of the theatre over a month ago, and they had more time for the load in than you would have had in any West End theatre. Someone should have said “wait a minute….” but people were too fixated on the orchestra to notice (or care about) the abomination in front of them on the stage. A friend who knows someone in the cast mentioned something about the set breaking and them having to rebuild the whole thing?! (Maybe they'll make it better...) I heard this too!!!! Cancelled again tonight due to ‘cast illness’. Bitterly disappointed.

This better not delay the press night. I’m too excited to read the reviews

Why are you so excited to read the reviews may I ask?! Because I am expecting some howlers… I think rather than being exciting that might be rather a shame for all the people involved with the production. And indeed the people that have enjoyed it. Doubt they’ll be “howlers” anyway.

Both tonight and tomorrow's shows are cancelled. Let’s hope for Saturday. Monday might be the most under-rehearsed press night to ever happen in the history of the west end.

I'm trying to remember what the musical was that ran a year or 2 ago at this theatre and delayed press night again and again and then shut pretty quickly. I'm sure it was a biopic. I'm a bit worried this may not limp to opening night. I would have seen it but the English translations of their lyrics just sound too awkward for me to face. Hoping for all involved it at least competes the run.

There are some really good people in this who deserve the physical production to project them forward not hold them back. I hope the missed shows are indeed a last minute rethink of the look of the show.
I'm surprised it uses the same logo as previous mega scale productions. True, not enough people in the UK know the show in order to feel short-changed, and those that do will be well aware that this is different. But to let it drift so far outside of 'the brand' that the logo announces feels strange.

I highly doubt their "press night" will go ahead as an event.... knowing people who have worked there over the last ten years there is no way the theatre would take the risk for better or for worse.
