Kevin Puts' latest opera is based on Michael Cunningham's Pulitzer-winning novel The Hours and it opened a couple of weeks ago at the Met with Renée Fleming, Joyce DiDonato and Kelli O'Hara. Last night it was broadcast in cinemas around the world and a live audio recording is available on Opera on 3: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001fwy4

I was at the screening last night and I absolutely loved it.
The story is one that has totally gripped me. Book, film and now opera all work brilliantly.

tbh, the Philip Glass score still lives with me; occasionally, it drowns out the Northern Line. What a film! But hey, this looks very interesting.
