A poster on the Wicked UK thread mentioned a rumour about Laura Harrison becoming standby. Perhaps that could be true for the tour?

Tour timed to get everyone to see it before the film comes out? In fact the final leg in Manchester will coincide with the films release if that still happens at Christmas 2024.
So do I want to see a final leg of a year long tour? Elphaba going through the motions in DG, Nessa with badly stitched holes in her stripey tights, a moth bitten lion cub puppet, silver paint rubbed off the tin man’s bum where he’s been sat down backstage every night for a year or do I see the shiny new film for a tenth of the price?

Of course you do. By that point the 5th emergency cover Elphaba will be on, the lift won't have worked in weeks so she'll be flapping her arms to simulate flight, but the fangirls will still cheer and it'll be magical.
I think Laura Harrison would be a good shout for standby, she seems to have proved herself pretty reliable in the continued abscence of Lucie & Amy.

I'm just glad it's coming to (AND OPENING IN) Scotland. Us Scots seem to be an afterthought for a lot of the recently announced tours. Looking at you directly Drifters Girl. Now just hoping for great casting!

You’ve got North East with Sunderland, but it won’t play near London so as to not compete with the West End production. I meant East East! I feel the latter part of my post answers your question. That and a lack of theatres sizeable enough for the show. |

London is south east so no tour stop required there, it’s going to Sunderland in north east. I’m not sure if there is a large enough theatre in the east to house it. |

It should really go somewhere like Norwich. That’s almost as far from London as Bristol is and if the Theatre Royal can fit Les Mis, I think it could fit the Wicked tour.

Norwich is a problem for the mega shows as the stage isn't very deep, at only 11 meters. Sunderland is nearly 13 meters which I think would be the smallest on this tour, and that depth is needed for Wicked to fly Elphaba. |

Les Mis is downscaled compared to Wicked. Capacity is also an issue as well as it's only 1300 seats. Same reason The Lion King only goes to the big venues. |

Lucie has been struggling a bit with the role in London, so I'm not sure how that would go on tour.
I would say the tour is slightly more taxing with added shows and moving venues every few weeks/months.
But anything is possible!
