Even the Marks & Spencer lemon and lime ones? Haven't tried 'em. Think they'll convert me?

Even the Marks & Spencer lemon and lime ones? Haven't tried 'em. Think they'll convert me? It's a theatreboard ex-communication level issue if you don't In all seriousness (and I take my cake based discussion VERY seriously) the Lemon Lime ones are very refreshing, and a bit different to the regular kind.

First of all, HOW VERY DARE YOU insult the mighty Jaffa . Secondly, M&S sell what??? I'm THERE!

But some on this Board virtually WORSHIP the M&S Lemon Lime Jaffa.

I mean, it depends why you dislike a jaffa cake. If the concept of the spongey base throws you off, or the fruity jelly+chocolate combo is a dealbreaker, then the M&S ones surely can't change your mind. But if you're not a fan of orange, or prefer dark chocolate to milk, or think you might get on with a slightly thinner and/or less circular base, then it's definitely worth a shot.
Cheeky calling 'em jaffa cakes when there's no orange in 'em though, that's for sure.

Hated Rent. Found it completely pretentious. And boring. Finally saw it at The Other Palace when it was there and wondered what all the fuss was about.

Coincidentally my Mum's just given me a yellow-stickered/reduced pack of the M&S orange Jaffa cakes and they're much nicer than the branded ones. I might take them into Ghost Stories tomorrow as a Kermode-code-compliant silent snack, assuming there'll be any left.

Felt the same, except I couldn't get to a theatre. Tried watching the movie and the broadway broadcast and just couldn't get through the first 45. Not the revolution it had been billed as, imo.

Coffee - I mean it’s alright. I like a black Americano every now and again, but the whole coffee culture that has taken over the country over the last 20 years has got ridiculous.
I’ve started to resent people I know who just “can’t start the day without my latte”. The worst thing about it is that as a proper tea drinker (not just bags of English Breakfast), none of these coffee chains know how to make a decent cup of anything resembling tea.

Just the smell of coffee makes me feel ill. I don’t do hot drinks at all anyway.

The only acceptable form for coffee is coffee and walnut cake. Best eaten while also enjoying a nice cup of tea.

I like coffee.
I don't like coffee with a side order of pretentious wank designed to make it seem like some sort of cultural experience.

Based on some comments on another thread... I really like Craig Revel Horwood’s work on actor/musician shows. (I’ve seen four: Martin Guerre, Sunset Boulevard and Spend, Spend, Spend at the Watermill and Chess in North (don’t get excited, TallPaul ...) hampton. Clever, inventive stuff; the amount of work that goes into this kind of production, in addition to the contributions of the MD and orchestrator, must be incredible.

none of these coffee chains know how to make a decent cup of anything resembling tea. I think that's all part of their plan, but then again, and at the risk of sounding like Arthur Dent, I don't think I have ever found anywhere that makes a decent cup of tea. When I'm out and it's cold I end up buying a milky coffee and always regret it because I don't sleep.

At risk of incurring the wrath of people who possibly care about and know a lot more about tea than I do, could I put in a vote for the English breakfast tea at Pret? YMMV.

My first experience of Rent was the movie - rewatched it recently and realised it’s terrible! And they didn't include "Goodbye Love" (well, not the second part), which is one of my favorite moments from the musical and a crucial scene. Actually they filmed it but it was cut; it's on YouTube.

Despite popular opinion that Layton Williams was the best part of the recent Rent tour, Phillipa Stefani and Ryan O'Gorman were incredible, and stole it over Layton for me.

And for me it was Lucie and Shanay but to be fair I thought every single cast member was outstanding.
