People who are obsessive about seeing every first cover/second cover/swing in musicals should take up collecting stickers instead as it probably works out less expensive in the long run...

I hate football, and not just because I was forced to play it at school. I've been watching the Commonwealth Games this week and been engaged by sports like beach volleyball and netball (where England have just made it to the final 56-55 with a goal in the very last second) because things keep happening and the scores keep changing and the course of a match can alter in the space of a minute. And then you have football, where a team can play for an hour and a half and get a score of 2, and where scores of nothing at all from either side are common.

This thread is AMAZING 😁 Adele has a dreadful voice. Mamma Mia is a waste of a West End theatre. Skinny jeans don't suit anyone. This is fun! I wear skinny jeans, but with this ass I can pull them off. I have no doubt of that 😉🍑

American plays have been rubbish, with a few exceptions, since the seventies.
British directors are years behind European ones.
Professional criticism is worthless.
No, you can’t create theatre, ‘as it is written’.
99% of people who whinge about verse speaking haven’t got a clue what they are talking about.
Also, to clarify - even in Shakespeare’s time the actors wore ‘modern dress’!

I just don't get the hype around Lin-Manuel Miranda. In the Heights is amazing, Hamilton is great (from the Cast Recording) but I don't find him to be a great singer/rapper, his voice kinda grates on me, and I'm terrified he is going to ruin Mary Poppins because of that. He is one of the most overrated people of recent years. I just don't get it. I don't believe he is the second coming of Christ he is made out to be.

There are too many long runners in the West End and we could cull a number of them to allow more new shows
I don’t get people who go OTT on social media when a show announces it’s closing
It’s better to see a wide range of shows rather than the same shows multiple times

Hated "In the Heights" & appsolutely no desire to see "Hamilton". - Rap & hip hop is not musical theatre.

People speaking Shakespearean language whilst wearing modern dress look and sound absolutely ridiculous. I know what you mean. Many years ago my eldest son went with the school to the National theatre for a productin of "Macbeth". When he came home he said it was stupid because they all had machine guns & should of used them.

I wouldn't bother, it's decidedly average, no better than a thousand other mediocre murder mysteries I wanna see it more because of its legendary status. In truth, of all the shows in London, I can never see Les Mis, Phantom, Woman in Black and Mousetrap closing. Obviously they may eventually, but they all are part of West End history in a huge way. If one closes soon, it will be Woman in Black. But that still won't happen anytime soon. Thst said, its a great show, I loved it when I saw it, and the Fortune Theatre fits it perfectly so, it feels almost purpose build because of how horrible it is in there hahaa. So that can stay. I wanna go back actually.

Ok. It's a sunny day so, presuming most of you are out (still a bit chilly for me) I'm going to hide this here where it won't be noticed. After all, I don't want to be receiving any packages wot tick.
But I desperately need to feel cleansed of these thoughts.....
Sheridan Smith makes me reach for the 'off' button.
So does Sarah Lancashire.🤷♀️

I found it boring, but it fulfils a valuable function in that as long as it's running it stops any other production from crowing about long runs. Any time a show boasts about its longevity it can be countered with "Yes, but The Mousetrap has been open decades longer than you and that's utter crap".
