I thought @sohoplace had been designed with an element of flexibility?
Hello Dolly! was another COVID cancellation, I think.

If it had I wasn't aware of that, I thought it was solely in the round, and in which case I retract the statement about Local Hero!

Hello Dolly! was another COVID cancellation, I think. It's been mentioned that it's happening Summer 2024 at the Palladium, after Imelda is finished with The Crown.

I think the only Covid-usurped West End run which hasn’t rescheduled yet (bar Pillowman which we know is coming) is Laura Wade’s The Watsons. Do we think that could slot a run in somewhere? I’m assuming it would need to be done when Samuel West isn’t busy with All Creatures Great and Small. The other two shows drastically affected by covid were Sunday in the Park with George (now consigned to 'what might have been' wistfulness) and City of Angels which had literally just started. I am hoping Josie Rourke and Nica Burns can resurrect that. Forgot about Angels, but I had consigned Sunday to the bin pile too :-( Hopefully all the producers are reading this thread and thinking "oh yes, I'm meant to be putting that on at some point!"

I suspect The Watsons' moment to come into the West End has probably passed.
The Robert Icke Oedipus is still undated, I would imagine that'll be one for @sohoplace

Any chance of Bedknobs & Broomsticks coming in?

4000 Miles was also a victim which seems to be dead. Anyone know if that’s the case?

A Doll's House with Jessica Chastain I could see coming in next year, I think they're waiting for Jessica Chastain to become available to do it. 4000 Miles was also a victim which seems to be dead. Anyone know if that’s the case? Been picked up elsewhere. One star still attached. Eileen Atkins is still attached IIRC, I assume it'll go to somewhere like Bath rather than a London venue.

I wonder if Plaza Suite which was a hit on Broadway might do a West End run?

In your view. Personally, I don't believe in such a thing as "the wrong space", and certainly not "entirely the wrong space". But I'm a realist - it won't happen. Or perhaps it might. I'll keep looking to the skies in the hope that my comet will reappear. A strange view to have as there have been many times show are put into the wrong space - the current production of the Crucible at the National is a prime example of 'show in the wrong space', and I'm not sure how you'd turn a show that is in a fairly traditional set up into the round without entirely redesigning it - so I think Soho Place is the wrong venue for it unfortunately. The Lyceum production of the same show wasn't in the round... Anything and everything is possible.

Sorry to name drop but my team had a conversation with Eileen very recently because we’re trying to get her for a different production, and she’s still attached to 4000 Miles which is in talks with another venue.

I would walk 1000 miles, no more and no less, but solely on the proviso that I could see her tonight.

Predictions - Wizard of Oz - Palladium (from mrbarnaby) Sister Act - I recon back at Hammersmith or a West End venue. Billy Elliot - Barbican Totoro - Gilly Lynne We Will Rock You - Heard a rumour this is coming in for a season. Hadestown Devil Wears Prada - London before Broadway (as suggested in the variety article) Will we finally get Mean Girls? Jagged Little Pill? From the new Broadway season I recon Some Like it Hot could be the next big hit show. As in the Curve Billy Elliot? Have you heard something about this transferring then and specifically to that venue? I had thought that they only had the rights for that limited run at Curve and nothing more but I guess the success of it could have changed things and also it did hint it wasn't the last we saw of it in the season brochure.

Is it the same Lloyd Webber produced WOO as before or a different production? I think it’s the same production as far as same book and score including the new songs but a different set and director, probably a smaller production if it’s starting in Leicester and possibly touring. It's quite radically different in the whole concept and design. Also in the music too, it's been completely reorchestrated to fit the new concept and even new bits of music added. ALW has given them pretty much free reign (though he of course is having to sign it off and is involved...). Oh and it's definitely not a small production! The set is pretty huge and it's going to have a 16 piece orchestra! Hopefully it will get a run at The Palladium and that rumour is true. Would be good to get a major Curve production in such a prestigious west end venue.

In regards to Billy Elliot, I think MrB also said that the Curve only had regional rights, a West End run would require the original producers to want to be involved.

The Pillowman is confirmed for June to September 2023. Does mean a gap for another show in the Spring at the Duke of York's. Also, I wonder if this thread might be better in general rather than musicals? BurlyBeaR TallPaul

Tammy Faye would be a perfect fit for the Duke Of York’s in spring
