Saw this referenced on twitter as proof that there are indeed plans to broadcast the show

Thanks for posting. I do get a good idea of the show from this. I sent my tix back because I didn’t want to have to use the earphones. I couldn’t understand the concept. Why wear if you are supposed to be listening to what is in front of you? Still puzzled. As I understood it, it kind of supports the vibe of a psychological thriller, makes sound effects more haunting and strengthens Macbeths' POV, which I felt was central to this interpretation. Not exactly necessary, but accentuates certain things.

I tried to buy tickets the minute they came out and I couldn't get any. What do we think the odds are of actually being able to get the Donmar Daily or standing tix? I need to see Tennant as Macbeth- not sure about the headphones though I bit and got a membership for the ticket release this Wednesday, was frantically refreshing the page since 5 minutes in advance until I saw some appear and managed to grab one, so it is possible, but not sure about the odds.

Does anyone have first hand experience of attending the Bridge Theatre Guys & Dolls - which looks fantastic. The standing option appeals although I would love to know whether it's a case of getting close as possible to the stage when standing - or - it doesnt really matter as much wherey you stand? And as for seating. Looking at the seating plan, some seats 'higher' but restrictive but more 'leg room' North/South/East/West with seemingly less seats North and South. Any thoughts from those that have been there? The front row £150 a bit out of the price range. I was standing and felt close to action at all times without any conscious effort on my part. The only time I felt like I could have been positioned better was during Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat, which seemed to be aimed towards seating.

Last week - Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory at Endgame on Thursday and not in the audience, but Jemma Redgrave at NT stage door and Rakie Ayola at Playhouse (Cyrano) stage door.

Just saw this on the NT site: Running Time: Approx 4 hours, including 2 intervals Wow. Just randomly checked a production currently running here in Germany: 2 hours 30 incl. interval. Probably wasn't the best idea to book to see it on a Saturday night after a working week, a night train, a morning flight and with 3 extra hours of time difference...

I do think the corporate environment is an important theme; the ideas will of course be better if a profit-making concern pools together a selected group, and pressures until they produce something profit-making (not just Netflix but Amazon and several other new providers). It seems highly likely that there has never been a time in history when platforms have looked so hard for potential content. Wasn't the ultimate result 'is someone getting this down' intentionally ridiculous - surely a serious writer wouldn't validate such a process and I don't think Baker does. She ridicules it in the nonsense sub-Greek myth tale. So the most intriguing stories we hear involve the humanity of Chicken Danny, the real-life calamities of the head guy, as well as - if that's what it is - the idea from foxhead guy of the extraordinary being all around us. Postulating ... maybe the audience being somewhat excluded from the event - the process - is part of the point. Not sure that' going to mollify people who paid up to £60. I thought there was a bit of an oversaturation of the storytelling market thing going on, with these people being given a carte blanche and not actually having anything to say, except channeling their mostly unremarkable lives and pointless idle fantasies into the story.

Premier Inn Lewisham is one of the cheaper ones I think, and it's 5 minutes from Lewisham station with direct trains to Charing Cross and Waterloo.

Booked for the 1st November perf ages ago, but still not received e-tickets. Wonder if I should chase? I went for two restricted view seats but not together Q35 in the stalls and one of the Row C dress circle pillar seats. Glad to hear that so far the restrictions aren't too bad. I've only just received e-ticket for 22nd October today.

It's been announced that HBO is airing this starting Nov 4th. I wonder if we'll get it before or after then? Nov 3rd on BBC One.

I saw it in Dublin and found it really dark and atmospheric. And rather political as far as I can tell. Ruth Negga brilliant in the title role; I'm not entirely sure what I think of the production overall, but she is my favourite Hamlet now.

One of my favourite broadcasts would be Frankenstein, as it was the first one we had in my hometown, and we kinda had to petition the distributor and the local cinema to prove that there would actually be enough people attending for it to be worth the trouble.
Another one would be Follies, because it left such an impression, that I sometimes forget that I only saw it in cinema and not in theatre.

amybenson From what I remember from JC you were part of "the crowd" or "citizens" or "soldiers" and you were moved with everyone else, listened in on the conspirators and had the fight go on around you with stuff falling from the ceiling. AMND has the Rude Mechanicals who break the mould in the play anyway and in this production talk directly to the audience as they are rehearsing, somehow make you clap, laugh and boo for them, and 1-2 people have direct interactions which are voluntary with no lines and no going up on stage. The fairies do cater to the audience and shouting/clapping/cheering near the end is encouraged but this is more being vocal as collective rather than individual. In conclusion, you do not have to interact and can just observe but you get more out of it by engaging which as a pit member, is what you want isn't it? Thanks for the clarification! My sister and I are anxious and excited about this aspect in equal measure. But I'm sure it's worth it. I'm determined not to regret it anyway

I went on Monday and absolutely loved it! I think that it was almost better than JC which I saw the last performance of last year. More treating the audience as active viewers rather than just "the crowd", amazing acrobatics which enhanced the experience, wonderful costumes and enough laughs to leave you feeling bouyed up. Gosh, is it much more interactive than JC?

^ Are you planning on only seeing one part of Harry Potter? I've seen both parts (part 1 twice) with the original cast, and part 2 with the second cast, and now want a glimpse of the third one 😁 Anyway, no luck for me this time :-(

Hey Amy FYI so arrived back home just in time to jump onto Friday Rush and just grabbed two great seats for Monday night ! YAY ! Congrats! No luck for me today, but I'll keep checking, last year I managed to get Angels in America tickets a couple days before the show. I ended up dayseating it today. Arrived at 6:45, with about 10 people ahead of me. Got 2 front row tickets for the matinee.

Has anyone dayseated this? I was picking up some tickets at the NT today, and the box office were advising the people in front that the day seat line for this is busy, particularly at weekends. Today, the first person arrived at 4.55am, and the last person to get a ticket arrived by 7.30am - and that has been typical since the run started. Week days, they begin at around 6am, but will probably match weekends as the run continues. Understood. Thanks!

Hello everyone!
I'm planning a trip to Glasgow on January 5-8 and I was wondering if there are any shows I could see there. I tried googling, but only managed to find panto. Is there anything on in the first days of January that could be of interest to a foreigner? Or may be in Edinburgh? General Glasgow advice would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
