I've got a very cheap seat for the first preview moved over from last year, and I've just been and paid for an end of row front stalls seat for Linzi's first show. After screaming loudly at the news, of course. The Palladium cast recording was a large part of the soundtrack to my childhood, and last time round at Joseph I teared up at the overture. I'm going to be an emotional mess at this one!

There are no single seats at all from what I can see, and most of the pairs are either premiums or at the very back/top of the auditorium. I’ve just had to pay £150 for a bubble of three for the first night that might end up being occupied only by me, as it was cheaper than a pair of premiums and I have claustrophobia and vertigo issues so can’t sit under the overhang or right at the top.

I'm gutted that they've made the choice to open on the Saturday (all going well with lockdown easing of course) - I had a front row ticket for Friday 4th.

Jordan is an odd choice for & Juliet - Romeo doesn't really have a full solo. He sings an abridged version of Love Me Like You Do so maybe they'll get him to do a full version of that, or if this is "initial" casting maybe there's more to go and we'll get one of the Juliets joining him for One More Try.
“It’s My Life”? The show version is both him and Shakespeare, with a little of Juliet/Anne at the end, but I guess it would be another option for changing and having him do the whole song. Good call.

What's On Stage have posted initial casting this morning. We can probably figure out a lot of the songs based on who's appearing. It's mostly one or two people from each cast, as to be expected.
Aisha Jawando in a performance from Tina – The Tina Turner Musical Sam Tutty in a performance from Dear Evan Hansen Layton Williams in a performance from Everybody's Talking About Jamie Collette Guitart and Hana Stewart in a performance from SIX (the pair will perform on select dates each) Gavin Spokes in a performance from Hamilton Dom Simpson and Tom Xander in a performance from The Book of Mormon Helen Woolfe and Laura Pick in a performance from Wicked Tilly-Raye Bayer, Imogen Cole, Alyssa D'Souza, Alex Munden and Carly Thoms in a performance from The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical. Jordan Luke Gage will perform a number from & Juliet Shan Ako and Frances Ruffelle in a performance from Les Misérables cast members in a performance from Disney's The Lion King Christine Allado and Alexia Khadime in a performance from The Prince of Egypt Alice Fearn in a performance from Come From Away Holly-Anne Hull and Rhys Whitfield in a performance from The Phantom Of The Opera Zizi Strallen in a performance from Mary Poppins Mazz Murray in a performance from Mamma Mia!
There will also be a choir of 16 which is made up of Musical Theatre 2020 graduates. To accompany the event, hit composer duo Stiles and Drewe have penned a new track, The Show Must Go On!, to celebrate the theatre community during these times.

Six are presumably doing Heart of Stone based on it being the easiest to do solo and the two actresses listed (the alt and second cover Jane Seymour). Knowing Six's history though, I won't be surprised if they end up having to pull out of one or more performances because they need both Hana and Collette on stage at the Lyric!

I'm going on Tuesday afternoon. I booked it when the show went on sale as it's half term week, now it turns out that they're letting their standbys (Lydia White and Josh Barnett) have it as a scheduled show so they get to perform at least once. As someone who enjoys seeing different takes on the same role that's perfect timing for me, I'll get to see Lydia and Josh live in the theatre and then Molly and Oli on the stream a few weeks later.

BIB - as far as I'm aware, any production that has sold with all rows occupied is able to do so because they've moved the rows so that there is 1m between them - which is why Songs For a New World had people in all rows of the stalls, but had to leave alternate rows empty in the circles as they couldn't be moved. The info for the Les Mis concert claims the same, that they have resat all the rows for distancing. Your average theatre won't have that space between rows already, so unless they're in a position to move rows then they're forced to keep alternate rows empty. That's not entirely accurate - they don't need to (and the Palladium didn't) keep alternate rows entirely empty in the circles. They left seats empty directly in front of and behind groups, but could sell the rest of the row (save for the 2 seat spacing between groups). That ensures some distancing (alongside the mask wearing, temperature checks and other mitigation measures) while allowing them to avoid so many completely empty rows. Oh, that's interesting - I was in the stalls so didn't see, I was basing my assumption on this photo from Twitter. I have no idea how it was worked out then, my brain is confused.

I was intending to wait until next month as between Sunset Boulevard and Les Mis I've already spent too much on theatre tickets this month ... then a ticket for this fell into my basket. Now I need to persuade my mum she wants to buy me it as a Christmas present.

I think it has to be nebulous to a certain extent. Can you imagine how pissed off someone would be if the government said that people have to sit no closer than 150cm apart so they measure their seating and find out it's 148cm? It's up to operators to know their own venues and think about what they can do, not only to keep people safe but also to make sure those people feel safe. There's obviously no sharp dividing line between safety and danger so it really is up to everyone to understand risks and think for themselves, either to judge what they have to do with their own business or to decide how they feel when visiting someone else's business. Nothing is perfectly safe. It's just safe enough.
That's how everything else happens, after all. I'd bet 90% of people don't even know how to find laws and regulations and have certainly never read any. They just get by with a broad understanding of risks and a general strategy of not being a moron, and it almost always works well enough. There's no reason why this situation should be any different.
Oh I fully agree. It does just need to be safe enough. And of course these things can never be measured as a "% safe" and nothing in life is totally safe. What interests me is the huge difference in capacity from the 25% ish of alternate rows off sale and two seats between groups to what we are seeing now of every row on sale, one seat between groups; 75% ish capacity.
So basically, if the prevailing mood is now that the latter is ok then we have made a huge stride forward and theatre can be viable and profitable. (But it makes me wonder why there was SO much "we can't operate at 25% etc etc" if nobody had ever asked them to. Though of course I do get that it's uncharted territory for everyone so things weren't exactly clear; but the 25% arm waving was extensive).BIB - as far as I'm aware, any production that has sold with all rows occupied is able to do so because they've moved the rows so that there is 1m between them - which is why Songs For a New World had people in all rows of the stalls, but had to leave alternate rows empty in the circles as they couldn't be moved. I’m bricking it for ‘Rent’ though. ☹️ I'm just hoping that since they've been in rehearsals they'll still be able to do the recording and stream it, even if the live show can't go ahead. *crosses fingers*

Well, they're assuming they're going to pick up a lot of four child families with the number of six person bubbles they have, aren't they?
I'd be up for going to see this just for the music, but I'm not sure my husband would and I don't like those prices for a very restricted view single. If we can get seats a bit cheaper nearer the time hopefully he can be persuaded.

I've just caved and bought DMT+ membership just for this. I've got the single on the end of dress row A for Dec 22 to see JOJ again.

I cried even walking into the auditorium, so there was no hope for me once the show started.
The programme price is ridiculous, but I bought one anyway as a memento. I guess that’s what they’re hoping for.

That performance tonight just blew me away. Lost for words. I hope everybody who went enjoyed it. I managed to drop/smash the back of my phone in the first applause (in the overture/mask removal). The upside was that the impact seemed to trigger a record app, and I found ⁰the show sounded great in Logic 7 surround on the drive home... £99 for new rear glass, but infinitely richer for it breaking! What a fortunate coincidence ... oh wait, wrong ALW show. Right set though.
There's nothing to say that hasn't already been said. I will miss this show terribly, but I'm delighted that I got to see it again. I love this production, and I honestly think this version has been even better than the original as the restrictions forced them to make clever choices, even if I do kind of miss the hanging of the microphone.

Maybe everyone else realised this already...I’ve just noticed that Tyrone did both shows yesterday, performing with both Jesuses and both Marys. I wonder if they’ll do the same today. Two Ricardo shows. On any other weekend I’d agree with you, but if they let all but one of the leads have a show on the last day and not Tyrone I will riot. That’s patently unfair and I can’t see them doing it. But then I thought they’d go back to the original trios for the last day so clearly I know nothing.

And Maimuna posted on her story earlier about it being her last show with Tyrone and Pepe.
I'm guess that means Pepe/Ricardo/Anoushka and Declan/Tyrone/Maimuna tomorrow.
You mean Pepe/Tyrone/Anoushka and Declan/Ricardo/Maimuna. If that's the case then ceebee was almost right! Now I need to know who's doing the evening show. You're right, I do mean that. Which I will be very happy about if it's right because I haven't seen Declan and Ricardo together and didn't think I was going to get to.

I'm guess that means Pepe/Ricardo/Anoushka and Declan/Tyrone/Maimuna tomorrow.

Anyone able to tell me what the parking situation at Hope Mill is like please? On their site it says there's a small car park but I can't find it on Google Maps.

Thursday was Ricardo. I'm also jealous of the Declan/Ricardo show tonight, I don't think I'm going to get to see them together now unless they mix up the trios for closing (which I suppose is possible but my instinct is that they'll stick to the trios they started with for the last day).

What I'd give to see Declan and Ricardo tomorrow night. I’ve booked again for tomorrow matinee- I’ve seen Pepe 3 times and Declan 1. It’s Declan I really want to see again, but luck just doesn’t seem to be on my side at the moment. Given that Pepe has done last night and tonight, my money is on Declan tomorrow afternoon. Guess we'll find out - I'm there too.

Tommy123, in your list can I ask if Wednesday 19th is for both matinee and evening or was there no matinee? There was no matinee, I was at the first midweek matinee on the 26th.
Anoushka was Mary on Saturday night, I've just asked a friend who was there.
I really enjoyed Pepe and Tyrone together last night. Last time I saw Pepe I felt the age difference between him and Ricardo made the Jesus/Judas relationship feel too imbalanced for me. Pepe and Tyrone play like they could be contemporaries.

I'm utterly baffled as to why they have 14/15 sets of groups of 6 available. Social bubbles are still supposed to be your househould (potentially plus one if they're a single adult), right?
Also utterly annoyed that because I was at school teaching I didn't see the announcement until this afternoon so have precisely zero chance to go. Really not what I wanted to come home to after an exhausting first week with the kids back.

Booked for Sunday matinee next week looking forward to live theatre again .... any good and it’s a bonus lol ... weren’t many 2s to choose from sadly .... but did notice some 3s and 4 s with one ticket sold ? But when I tried to book 2 in a 3 wouldn’t allow it .... wonder if it would work better like showcase cinemas do it u just book your seats then it automatically blanks out the seats around you ? Theatre says use public transport we’ve got no chance doing that what’s parking like ? I've definitely seen emails from the theatre saying they've got a deal on with one of the Wembley car parks at £1 for an hour or something. I've just done a quick search on their Twitter and found this:

As it stands my guess would be Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna for the last matinee and Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka for the evening, but they've started to mix things up a bit this week so it could be completely different. Will be interesting to see who's on this weekend.

Are these the correct line ups so far? Happy to keep editing so we can keep track fri 14th - Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka sat 15th (m) - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna sat 15th (e) - Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka sun 16th (m) - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna sun 16th (e) - Declan/Ricardo/Anoushka (cancelled midway) tue 18th - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna wed 19th - Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka thu 20th - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna fri 21st - Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka sat 22nd (m) - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna sat 22nd (e) - Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka sun 23rd (m) - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna sun 23rd (e) - Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka tue 25th - Declan/Ricardo/Maimuna wed 26th (m and e) - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimunathu 27th - Declan/Tyrone/Anoushka
Almost right - Weds 19th and Thurs 20th are wrong - Pepe/Ricardo/Maimuna on Weds, Declan/Tyrone/Maimuna on Thurs. This Weds (26th) Pepe and Ricardo did do both shows, but Anoushka was on for the matinee.
It's possible that I've been keeping a spreadsheet since the first night ...

By my records, I am going to see Tyrone and Declan tonight, as I think it was Ricardo and Pepe last night. What do you think? I feel slightly like I am being unfaithful to Ricardo, which is ironic as it’s my wedding anniversary. I would assume so based on the last week, particularly given that Pepe and Ricardo did both shows yesterday (the first two show day where that has happened, but then also the first midweek matinee so no precedent).
If anyone's counting (read: if anyone else is as stubborn as me and went well if you're going to refuse to give a schedule, I'll figure it out myself), 6/8 possible Jesus/Judas/Mary combinations have now been on (not counting the understudies). The only ones that haven't happened are the two with Pepe and Tyrone together.

Has anyone been to the lawn screening of this? I'm going this evening with a couple others and I was going to bring a blanket for us all to sit on but the info hub seems unclear whether we'll be sitting together or still in the socially distanced individual 1.2sq metre spaces and I'll have to bring us a blanket each. I went on Sunday night. Unplanned - we had the grass bank tickets for the matinee then went straight round to the box office to book to watch the evening show on the screens.
We just sat where we wanted on the area in front of the screen without worrying too much about whether we were exactly in the spaces, but there were only about 20 people there so I imagine they might be more strict if they had sold all of the spaces. We all had our own blankets/coats to sit on but there were definitely groups who were all using the same one.
One annoying thing - when we first arrived there were lots of groups of people sitting on the lawn who then moved nearer the time as they had seats in the auditorium. It just meant that we were then able to move into a better (read: more grass, less dry ground) space after they'd gone, but really they should have clearer signposting to discourage people who don't have lawn spaces from sitting there, so everyone can get in and settled before the show.
