I thought they cut away deliberately as there might be some additional things they have to do - not sure if they then covered the space or left it open for everyone to walk around. I think it was deliberate and to avoid covering the family when the coffin did finally disappear. When the camera returned the area where the coffin had been looked just like the floor so it had been covered in. On a separate point I think the numbers who queueed for the lying in state will be revised upwards as looking back to the Queen Mother's lying in state an estimated 200,000 queued then and that was 3 days. I am sure more than 250,000 queued this time.

For those of you who wondered the tall chap in the parade was Matthew Magee 7 ft 2 and was an assistant private secretary.

What an emotional day. We watched mostly on ITV but it certainly was a fitting send off to what an example of true service really looks like.

King Charles hardly seems to have had a moment to himself with the latest today visiting the Police HQ , then the queue and afterwards meeting several heads of state. Tomorrow holding the biggest gathering of dignatories at the Palace the day before the funeral.

Yes another moment of history whereby grandchildren have never carried out the vigil ceremony at a monarch's coffin. It is certainly going to eb a momentous day on Monday with unprecedented scenes.

Fantastic to hear of all of these ancient ceremonies going on around the country. Yes it was a real moment of history , in this social media instant news it was good to step back to past times.

I hope they went better than the local one here in Abergavenny, where the Mayor concluded the proclamation with a rousing "God Save the Queen!" Oops... Yes it went very well. 3 times singing the National Anthem...no mistakes!

Attended a beautiful service at Malvern Priory this morning and sung the National Anthem the first time with King. Off to see 2 local proclamations soon, 3pm and 4pm, the county council then the local Mayor. Historic times!

Yes it was strange. I am not a fan of the new staging and the phrasing of many of the songs seemed different. The whole spectacle seemed smaller and why it was messed with so much is beyond me. Although I am sure there are many who feel the opposite.

Saw this on Wednesday night and what a fabulous cast. Mazz Murray was outstanding. Her The Winner Takes It All alost stopped the show. Never heard it sung so well or with such emotion .

I saw Les Mis yesterday and it started with a minutes silence. The cast were:
Jean Valjean - Chris Jacobsen (2nd cover) Javert - Bradley Jaden Fantine - Jessica Joslin (1st cover) Thénardier - Gerard Carey Mme. Thénardier - Josefina Gabrielle Cosette - Charlie Burn Marius - Harry Apps Enjolras - Jordan Shaw Eponine - Sha Dessi
Having seen the show many times, probably almost 20 I have to disagree with the above comments as without doubt this was the worst production I have seen. The new staging has in my view ruined what was such a great show and the pared down cast and the way some of the songs seem to be rephrased in their delivery does the score no favours. The Thenardiers performance did not seem to have the usual response from the audience, and I Dreamed a dream was the worst vocal I have heard it sung. Added to this we hasd to be moved because the sound quality at the front of the stalls was atrocious. Suffice to say I will not be returning. Bradley did a great job with Stars but sadly the high points were lacking. Our other show the previous evening Mamma Mia was the reverse and one of the best casts I have seen.

Seems to be from february 26th to September 10th according to Ticketmaster with seats on sale from September 19th. Long been a fan of Josh and his vocal talents will make this amazing combined with the full orchestra.

In this social media driven age it is sad to see this sort of behaviour, especially those at the start of a career.

Yes it's such a shame. Have seen many productions over the years and had many lovely meals too! It always comes down to funding in the end and these small venues are so difficult to be financially viable, especially where the value of property is so high.Hope they manage to get a new venue, although that may necessitate a new name!

It was such a big film with a huge cast, it would be interesting to see how they translated it to the stage. I loved the soundtrack and I am sure it would be a huge hit if done well. The soundtrack alone has sold 2.4 million just in the UK. Sometimers we forget the money involved in putting shows on and the risk involved. It is a business designed to make profits so maybe some of the more obscure shows won't get much of a showing in these uncertain times .

I have seen the first 2 episodes now and I am enjoying the observational quality of it.The nuanced performances and the looks etc do ring true. It is certainly different from most dramas but I am still wanting to watch the last 2 episodes which is more than can be said for other dramas this year bar a few.

Trust me, the legacy (nay, the phenomena) that is ABBA is still alive and kicking in Australia Glad to hear it. I was just surprised at seeing these figures how little Voyage had sold.

Yes so shocking, remember him from the beginning with his popstars and popidol. Met him at the Menier after Funny Girl and like others have to say how lovely he was, polite and charming. Such a sad loss. R.I.P.
