Semmelweis (I'm assuming that new plays that haven't actually been able to open are permissible!)

We only went there once, to see The Shadow Factory, and parked at the West Park car park, no more than 5 minutes walk from NST City - so I have to admit to being a bit puzzled by the car park comments. I don't recall it being that expensive to park either.
It will be a shame if it isn't rescued - I recall it having a nice bar/restaurant, and lots of displays about the play around the foyer. We were due to be seeing the Merchant of Venice there later in the year

Roman Tragedies at the Barbican Thanks for reminding me of that one - featuring the most electrifying moment I can remember in the theatre - Hans Kesting doing Mark Antony's big speech

Does anyone know how the guy with the sandwich messed up the play? Sorry to ruin it but every bit of "audience interaction" was staged - I saw it twice and it was exactly the same each time! I think the idea was that by offering a sandwich the audience member undermined the fact that Francis was starving and desperate for food. I can guarantee that the two people from the audience picking up the trunk is not staged - I was picked on and had no warning at all before it happened.

In no particular order -
King Lear - 2017 - Ian McKellen at the Minerva in Chichester, edging out Glenda Jackson at the Old Vic Hamlet - 2017 - Andrew Scott at the Almeida edging out David Tennant/Patrick Stewart at the RSC Courtyard Henry V - 2018 - Tobacco Factory in Bristol The Tempest - 2016 - Sam Wanamaker Playhouse with Tim McMullan Macbeth - 2018 - Tobacco Factory in Bristol AMND - 2019 - Bridge Theatre Othello - 2015 - RSC with Hugh Quarshie and Lucian Msamati Julius Caesar - 2016 - Donmar at King's Cross with Harriet Walter, edging out the Bridge Theatre production Richard III - 2011 - Old Vic with Kevin Spacey Richard II - 2014 - Barbican with David Tennant and Michael Pennington
If there is a theme, it is that in general, I really love Shakespeare productions in small, intimate theatres

Coronet closed until further notice -
We have all been watching as the COVID-19 pandemic has evolved and impacted our lives. Like many other theatres, we at The Coronet Theatre want to do everything we can to protect the health and wellbeing of our audiences, artists, actors and theatre team while continuing to present outstanding drama, but have now taken the sad but necessary decision to cancel all performances of Afterplay. The theatre will remain closed until further notice. For those who hold tickets for future performances, we will contact you over the next few days with options to receive a refund, to credit the ticket price towards a future production, or help us by donating the price of the ticket. We are an unsubsidised venue, and whilst we completely understand that for some this will not be possible, we appreciate the support of those who can. We are paying close attention to the situation and government advice, and will re-open when it is safe to do so.
We wish everyone the very best for the difficult weeks ahead. We are working on ways to get some of our art to you in a safe and sound way - stay tuned.
