I genuinely laughed out loud when my right honourable friend said the Kenwright Evita is better than Grandage's 2006 revival. Each to their own and all... but that's just bonkers!
I also preferred the Kenwright version to the 2006 revival!!!

I heard they want a War Horse route for this - West End, Broadway, tours and world domination?!!!

I really hope this show comes into the West End but NOT with John Partridge. He loves himself, is wrong for the role, the accent is horrible and he is too young.

... I'm not sure I'd hold Miss Saigon up as an example of doing it right just 'cos it's at least better than Anastasia in that regard... Didn't he say "almost". I totally get what showbizkid means.. The revolution sequences and Vietnamese war scenes in Siagon try to be authentic, Anastasia has gurning Russians, crass lyrics and is cheesy and tacky and lacks class.

Liverpool is often used instead of London, Berlin or New York. It's showbusiness! Good on Croatia!

I hope it does come over to the West End. With a new book, set and rewriting the character Gleb!

A truly amazing show.. I wonder what the Tarento musical will be in October? Debbie Does Dallas was meant to got to Southwark last year - maybe it's that?

Did it feel 4 hours long like the recent Liverpool production? I am not a Fiddler fan..

I also stopped going to the Union. Temperature issues, bad shows and yes that awful staircase stage left. Makes the whole space sooooo awkward to use. Such a shame...

Stop bullying Showbizkid. Although the woman was vile I also think it doesn't take much to sign a programme. It's also obvious many West End performers actually post on this site. For example nothing can be physically harder than playing a principle role in the ballet and they mostly have grace when it comes to stage door etiquette. Reality TV culture and fame has turned some young actors into divas.

So much for a hunky blond Scandinavian playing Kristoff. I'm disappointed and it's simple PC casting. It was a white only film - historically and culturally accurate. He is meant to be a Nordic ice harvester who lives in the mountains near Arendelle! Sorry I don't buy it, I mean congratulations to Disney for embracing diversity on Broadway...now if only they'd do it more in their actual animated films...

Denise Welch cannot sing at all and her timing is all over the place. I also thought that she should not have played the barge woman in the second act. Just no reason. I totally agree on the class issues. I found Toad with his big house and posh RP accent and the foxes and weasles with their cockney accents a disgraceful reality check to today's society. The show looks so nice and the costumes and design and music all so sweet but goodness it is a boring musical. The people next to me left at the interval. *** Three stars from me.

I want a lot of things too I get you didn't like it. But again, I honestly think this is the best they can do given it's based on a children's cartoon, and that they're aiming for a family audience anyway and a "Wicked" spillover. I highly doubt producers are upset given how well its doing. Plus, no signs of them totally revamping if they're already making plans for a US tour. I am certain a 2018 first stop and early tour schedule will be made public very soon. The show proved to be critic free and Tony immune and is still doing well. New York is a much tougher sell than London. So if they can make it there, they can make it in London.
Critic FREE? HAHAHAHAHAHAA........ The reviews were bad!

I don't think he's being racist at all, just noting that if Lion King was to cast a whole white production there would be uproar. Fair enough.
racist
noun: racist; plural noun: racists
1. a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another

Having spoken to the producers there is no plan in taking this to Russia or London. It's a pipe dream. They said it is selling very well because of tourists and teenage girls but they are far from happy with the creative aspect show. The set was designed cheaply incase it flopped on Broadway and could then be toured. They also are not happy with the role of Gleb and the music in general. If it is shown anywhere else expect lots of major changes, rewrites, a new book and set! It's great to continue to work on shows. Look at Love Never Dies.

I think Dawn has been in Starlight for about 29 years! (Had the odd year off in the early and mid 90's) She's twice the age of most of the cast and just incredible! It's one hell of a work out! Amazing person and wonderful performer.

I don't give a damn if someone had a bad side stalls seat and says the shown is average. I know about 50 people who have seen it and ALL said it was sensational and one of the best things they had ever seen. Of course it's not chekhov but the staging dancing and tap numbers incredible. It's always depends what mood you are in as a person when it comes to reviews, also who you went with, where you sat etc... It's the best show in town and we all know it!!!

Sophie Louise Damn is very talented but her constant head shaking and sour lemon faced expressions in my mind makes her extremely irritating to watch. Still, she's got the parts good for her!

Ramin Karimloo saw Kinky Boots on Broadway and said Lola was now 'on the list'. In theory theres no reason why Lola couldnt be white and you can easily equal up the diversity by casting a black Charlie. I love this. Colour blind casting and gender swapping should work both ways, any way, upside down or inside out - that's the beauty of theatre and imagination! A male only cast, a female only cast, black actors playing white roles and heavens forbid a Jonathan Pryce when he played the Asian role of the Engineer in Miss Siagon. Would there be a Phillipino girl in the French Revolution? Of course not. It's acting, grown ups playing and it's an amazing art form we all love so much! The miscast concert series in New York was amazing and Cythia's "Papa Can You Hear Me" one of the best renditions of any song ever! I'm all for a white Lola especially if they swap with either a black Charlie/Lauren. Then you don't lose out. Hey, I'm up for the whole show being set in China and everyone is Asian!
