I'll be returning a £15 front stalls ticket for the matinee on Saturday 17 November if anyone is interested? Annoying that though that performance is all but sold out and I'm sure my ticket will promptly be re-sold,the NT will charge me a £2 fee. Have you already returned? I would have been interested!

God. I absolutely adored this. Every second. It is divine. Kelli is divine. I am inclined to think Ken is divine. I love me some Rodger & Hammerstein and this absolutely fit the bill. I would beg, steal and borrow a ticket - it is that good.

How popular is that show? Never heard of it. If she comes back after Love Island, do you think the fact that she's been on the show will help with ticket sales? (I know the show is selling well anyway) The show is very popular with the 18-24. Most come out after and become “social influencers”.

I finally was in the room where it happened last night! Sat in D24/25 - fantastic seats as I love being up close to see the expressions. Without repeating everyone else I absolutely adored this. A couple of understudies;
Sifiso Mazibuko was on for Aaron Burr. I really enjoyed his interpretation although I did feel he was stronger in act 2 as it felt like he was more relaxed. His “The room where it happened” was amazing but I wanted a little more for “Wait for it”. A strong performance though.
Miriam-Teak Lee was on for Angelica. I have to be honest I was gutted when I saw it wasn’t Rachel John as I adore her. Miriam was good but didn’t completely sell it for me. She had a lot of sass and her acting choices were nice but I, again, wanted a little more with her vocals.
As I already knew,Gabriel Mokake was on for Mulligan/Madison. He was good - not much to report.
I loved Jamael Westman who 100% sold it for me- he seamlessly made the character transitions and sung it really well. I also really liked Rachelle Ann Go - whilst she was somewhat Disney pop princess, I think it worked overall and I sobbed during its quiet uptown. I did feel she held back a little during burn, I really wanted her to just let go. I’d be interested in seeing someone else play the role though.
No Hamilton blues for me because luckily I am going again in July and I can’t wait!

As someone who was in Tanya’s demographic (I’m definitely out of it now!) I know bits about her. She is originally a makeup artist, that’s how her YouTube fame started, but she rarely does that now and has books out about baking and mainly does lifestyle vlogs. She has no drama school training but she has been having private acting lessons for the past couple of years.

The producers are also ministers at the International Church, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire! Which suggest they know Sodom all about producing. Yes, my Mum knows one of the men - he previously worked in IT! Edit - I should also point out I’m from Mansfield!

My mum’s friend’s husband is one of the people involved with Eden International. He told us about a year ago he had some money to put into a new musical. He’s previously worked in IT. I was under the impression that all, if not most, of the people involved with setting this up are simply involved in the church. I’m not surprised this has happened as he has no experience at all in musicals! What a disaster for the cast and crew.

I'm meant to be there tonight. Everybody cross your fingers the rain stops! I was also there last night. So lucky with the weather. After raining for most of the day, it stopped around 7 and we had a clear evening. Show was as brilliant as ever! Weren't we lucky! It was outstanding - this was my favourite show last year and it's done it again this year. I didn't manage to catch Declan last year but I thought he was fantastic last night (although of course the stand out is Tyrone).

Caught this yesterday afternoon - stalls A17/18. They are sold as restricted view but I thought it was excellent and we didn't miss much. That being said I was left a little cold by this. After act 1, I wasn't enjoying it much. The second act was better. Ashley Day danced well but I found his acting so hammy and unnatural. Leanne Cope was good but didn't blow me away. Stand out for me was David Seadon-Young - a great singer with great acting. The dancing was good, albeit somewhat long ad times, but the lack of book really bothered me. I don't mind dancing providing it moves the story along - this just seemed random and shoe horned in. I'm glad I've seen it but it wasn't for me.
That being said my mother loved it. Different strokes for different folks!

Evita

Oh, right. She wasn't on the cast list when the London cast were announced so I'd assumed she wasn't doing it. I may have to try to finally see her Eva, having not managed to do so back in 2011. You're right, she wasn't announced initially - I think some kinks were still being worked out - but her name is on the poster outside the theatre, so yes she's 100% in it. Natalie was on tonight so worth keeping an eye on Monday's as a possibility for her scheduled show, as per what AFF said! She did the Thurs matinee last week but that could have been because press night was the night before.

I had high hopes of this, but it was disappointingly tedious, so that & the stifling auditorium made me bail at the interval. I completely agree. Passed me by unfortunately! I did stay until the end however and really rated the singing but found it very average.

They haven't changed it... They've just lowered it for Emma It believe that they haven't changed the key of A New Argentina, but Emma is singing those sustained high phrases (he supports you, etc.) an octave down. I'm sure there are people who know the show and it's history better than me, but I think that it is not uncommon for actresses to do this since those phrases are some of the highest in the score. I saw it on Thursday with Natalie Langston and I don't think she and it sang it at the higher octave. I was quite underwhelmed with that bit tbh - think Madonna did it better (ducks for cover).

Saw this today. 2.5/5 Lackluster first half, slightly better second half. I believe I had the Eva understudy. Overall the production felt uninspired and cheap. Shout out to Phoenix Theatre who upgraded my ticket to stalls! This is the 4th time I've been upgraded at this theatre, love it. 1star for Don't cry for me Argentina. 1star for Che in a tank top in the second half. 0.5stars for that fabulous platinum blonde wig you go girl.! Also there this afternoon. It was the Eva understudy and unfortunately I was not a fan of her tone of voice. Very shrieky. Better second half but the first half was poor. Che was also lacklustre - his tone didn't suit me although he was better when he was belting. Poor production and I love Evita. I agree that 2.5/5 is suitable!

Has anyone seen this tour yet? if so, would you recommend as its in Leeds this week I've seen it. I really enjoyed it - very different to the film version though. The use of disabled actors alongside able bodied actors added something extra to the story for me; somehow made it make more sense? Some great singing in it too.

I really hope it lasts until June when I'm taking my mum. It's a shame it hasn't sold but they were extremely stubborn with their pricing during previews that it may have put a lot of folk off I doubt it will be closed by June. Remember these rumours are only rumours and might not be true but I think it'll open until July atleast as that's when it's booking until. Are all 3 levels open at the weekend? I think stalls and the dress circle were open. Around 3/4 full in the stalls. Absolutely loved this - so very northern tho and as a northern bird I loved it but could see it not appealing to the masses!

Well I loved it. The only criticism I have is the second half (particularly the last 40 minutes) is very rushed. Will was fantastic with a lovely strong voice. Didn't mind Katherine at all after some reservations. Loved the support and the orchestra. Wonderful!

I wonder if women of a certain age will be complaining about Alfie's absence! There were histrionics at the box office last year when Glenn missed a few shows. I can confirm all 10 women in front of me complained at the box office!

Can anybody please recommend fairly reasonable priced seats with a decent view for this? I'd buy top price but I'm a little short or cash right now as I've just moved to London. I got Row E 8/9 Stalls for 49.50 on TodayTix about 3 Weds ago during Easter half term! I bought them a couple of days before. Might be worth keeping an eye out.

I also thought she was brilliant. I saw MB and wasn't keen on the show. Although I enjoyed VHB I don't think there was much acting to the character she just killed the vocals. Whereas Rebecca made me absolutely love Julie and her Bill was the best thing in it!

I was also there at the matinee on Saturday. Having previously seen this at the St James and struggled to hear much of what they were singing, I was so pleased I got to see this again. Still absolutely adore Layton - what an absolute superstar. I also much preferred Christina to Lucie. For me her vocals had the edge and her characterisation was just enough without being too much (which I find with Lucie). A special mention to the understudy for Collins who really stepped up. Having seen Ryan before I didn't notice his voice was strained but I also don't think he was in La Vie Boheme. I just love this production!
