i wonder what will happen with the planned cast recording now? would the producers still think to do it even if it is later on in the run? i do hope so

On another note, can someone just give Rebecca a recording contract or a concert at the St. James or Hippodrome? Her voice is really special. Yes please! such a unique voice, i could listen to her read the phonebook!

saw the show tonight, really like the changes and additions from the menier run, the backdrops are much better than having just the theatre auditorium one if you know what i mean, also loved the track 1-5 signs at the train station.
i do hope the cast recording preserves all the new extended dance sequences, entr'acte, reprises, bows, exit music, that band is glorious and is a real highlight of the show for me!
first time seeing Sheridan in the role, i saw it at the menier when she was off, what a role it is! certainly up there with mama rose in terms of difficulty and stamina, she did very well, her comedy was good but i think she shone in the emotional scenes, girl can cry on cue like no bodies business!

its no surprise that hamilton has set another record with all its nominations, interesting that its managed to do so with the lack of the sound design category (which The Producers and Billy Elliot had when they set the record for 12) and really interesting to read some peoples responses to it all!
i have just realised that i will actually be in new york for the tony awards ceremony so thats going to be really exciting to see those shows pre and post awards!

I remember seeing Les Mis at the Queens Theatre when the revolve broke down during Act 2. The show continued with the cast bringing on furniture etc. It was so slickly done that I assumed the revolve not working was a regualar occurance! The show did not stop for a moment! don't think it happens too often but i do believe that that contingency plan is rehearsed every so often, or cast members are notified of what to do, much like if the cherry picker in Wicked ceases to work

Something else I was thinking about, I was just looking at Production Photos and no disrespect to Victoria who I am sure was amazing in the role of Daniela, but she looks a bit too old to be playing her in the Photos. I get that she was pregnant and that is not her fault if that had anything to do with her looks etc, even though pregnancy really does not work for thay character having seen the show now but Phillipa is a really sexy girl and looks stunning in the role, as I assume Daniela should be based on the way the character is performed or written? Though I credit Victoria on pulling off the role whilst heavily pregnant and I am sure she was fantastic in the role despite these issues. i actually really liked Victoria being a little older than the rest of them, she was more of a motherly figure to the hairdressers and with her being pregnant just added another layer to seeing all types of families and people in washington heights.

saw it this afternoon before their press performance, hugely agree its very bat-boy/urinetown/little shop of horrors; although thankfully the design and direction is much much better than southwarks bat-boy.
it was a shame to see it only about 50% full (but it was a tuesday matinee, i saw on the website the other ones are much more full), but the cast are great and its a great silly, rock and roll show with a catchy score.
if you have booked for row a theres a huge chance you're gonna be interacted with at some point!

i really enjoyed it today, saw a random wednesday matinee, it sits perfectly in the new london, my first visit to the theatre
a seating tip, especially if you can catch it during previews, row C in the stalls, especially c42 and c43 which are right next to the top price seats, are only £20 and have the most legroom in the entire west end. the rows in front of it are 'sunken in' to stage level so no ones heads in front of you

I wonder what the very back of the Upper circle is like. Thinking of trying to bock for either late July or mid September till end but haven't got much money for anything other than the cheapest seats. i sat on the back row for Gypsy and the front row of the upper for guys and dolls and they're not terrible seats, the rake is good so a clear view, and for £15 theres very little to complain about, its quite far back but you do get to appreciate the bigger picture for the shows plus, sitting on the front row of the upper i could see the front row of the dress and the two seats either end of the dress were empty during act one so i decided to move down to them in the interval, there is a safety rail right infant of those seats but you are eye level with the stage so I'm thinking they might be seats that are never sold and are used if there a ticketing issue. if they are free i would recommend sitting on the left side rather than the right as the right side has a box if front of you

not too fussed if its 2:30 or 3pm on a weekday, but agree that its nice to have sunday shows at 3 or 4pm
i wish we would go the way Broadway has and have more theatres dark on a Monday with a show on Sunday instead

saw this yesterday and completely agree with everything everyone has already said; a fantastic play that still has me reeling over it! Denise Gough is brilliant and surely has turned into an overnight sensation with this role.
I was sat in the grand circle in the £15 seats and have no complaints over the view for that price, i would suggest getting row C and D low number ones as there is less obstruction the further back you are, and for a handful of moments a few characters sit down in the obstructed corner whereas Denise goes over to the other side of the stage, again only a few times for a moment or so. Not sure what the balcony view is like, but both Balcony and GC were pretty much full.

i really enjoyed the show, a quirky plot with a good fun score
the problem for me is that this show screams cult musical; i found it very little shop/rocky horror, but the production, direction and marketing is trying to make it a traditional big budget splashy musical comedy. i feel if they had streamlined a couple of the songs, gone for a less flashy sort of set (when have projections as a set ever really worked?!) it could have got far better reviews. i don't think it deserved all those 1 and 2 stars, i probably would have given it 3 stars. The performances were great, very impressed with Tate's singing, considering in assassins her 4 solo lines were very ropey but she handled this score very well, even it it was classic Catherine Tate with an American accent acting.
