I was in the row behind Rosamund Pike at the final Friday of Uncle Vanya at the Almeida a few weeks ago. Must be a regular at the Almeida. I was sat behind her at Little Eyolf.

Watched this last week at the Lowry in a very, very empty Quays theatre. I liked it, the songs are okay, but the football analysis stuff just isn't funny especially after the fourth or fifth time.
Suprisingly the programmes were free, only about six pages but hopefully a trend others will follow.

Does anyone know how obtrusive captioning is at the Crucible? There are only 2 Saturday matinees for this show & the one with better availability is marked as a captioned performance. I've managed to successfully ignore captioning in proscenium arch theatres before by sitting near the front but I'm not sure how it would work with a thrust stage. I don't want to have a 6 hour round trip to Sheffield only to find I can't concentrate on the show because of the captions. I've been to a few Crucible performances with captions as I tend to do Saturday matinees. They aren't a problem, and I'm pretty sure there are certain seats where you can't see them at all. Might be worth giving them a ring to check.
