I agree it's a daft name. But as it's on Palace Street, there's a certain logic to it.

I usually always leave at the interval Very rarely during the show only in exceptional cases And even then during scene change To be honest The row can manage It's hardly a major drama I usually go alone Take no bags And agile and slender And so slim people don't even need to stand up to let me paSs Are you studying haiku? It's not quite a 3 line poem of 5, 7 and 5 syllable, but it feels as though that's what you're aiming for.

I'd booked for The Pirate Queen on Broadway, then it closed before I could get there. I'm still smarting at the various Ticketmaster fees I had to pay to buy the tickets but which were never refunded. Only the actual cost of the tickets was reimbursed. If you booked with a UK credit card you should have taken it up with the card company. I was once refunded the ticket price without booking fees/charges and challenged it. The theatre refused to budge but when I asked for a cash-back from the credit card company the theatre miraculously refunded the charges. If a performance is cancelled you are entitled to every single penny you paid.

I did Bochum and Starlight Express as a day trip from Cologne, which is an interesting city with a world famous cathedral. Train Cologne to Dortmund then a tram to Bochum which stops about 50m from the Starlighthalle theatre.
Easily doable, but be warned: train fares in Germany are expensive!

I was devastated to hear Victoria Wood CBE had died at such a relatively young age.
I was lucky enough to see her on stage many times, as well as stage versions of her TV shows. I remember an early stand-up show in Coventry when a friend I was with wanted to be a stage door Johnny. There were only about 5 of us there but she came bouncing out saying "Right, where are your autograph books?" She was jolly and smiling. As I don't do this sort of thing the only paper I had to sign was my ticket, which she happily autographed. Victoria Wood - As Seen on TV had just finished on the BBC so I asked if there'd be a repeat. "The BBC always repeat everything they get!" was her response.
Brilliant talent.

I quite liked the NT's 1:30 matinees.
Combined with 1-1.5 hour shows, no interval. Bliss!

The razing of this site has been proposed, and planning permission refused, several times. But this incarnation includes a new theatre, which the others didn't, and which the authorities wanted to keep on the site.
Many theatres don't have fly towers - pub theatres, Donmar, St James, Barbican theatre (converted theirs into a conservatory) I believe.

Saw this last night and agree with those who say it deserved better reviews,
Some good songs, perfect performances, and a completely bonkers story, it was a joy.

Lovetheatre offered tix at exorbitant prices.
So I checked ATG direct and, as a member, I got tix in row H at normal prices (albeit high enough at £59.50 each).

I'm an ATG Gold member and this pre-sale seems to be a rip-off.
They're only onsale until 14 January 2017 and the selection is poor.
Trying to get us all to buy preview tickets at normal prices??!!
Cynical - moi?
You bet.

Bars are required, by law, to provide tap water free of charge - even to those buying nothing. I assume theatre bars are not exempted...

Many West End theatres are lovely for many reasons but, for me, the most spectacular interior is the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. All that gold!

I'm a completist, so R&H's Cinderella and Flower Drum Song; B&S The Pirate Queen.
Then it's Mame, Next to Normal, Hamilton, Applause, Woman of the Year.

Saw this off-Broadway in 1999 and in London in 2000 so a trip to Manchester to see the glorious Julie Hesmondhalgh was always a no-brainer.
Absolutely brilliant!
