Gemma Collins has hijacked this thread. No real comment about Russell Watson. I saw this a couple of months back in Southend and Russell was out and was out all week This week in Dartford Saw this again and yes Russell was out again and has been all week apart from Tuesday. A poster said 10 pages ago that he was also out in Liverpool. as anyone seen him perform? He was out in Eastbourne when I watched, his understudy seems to have done more shows then him

I was at the q&a on thurs night in chi, and they said they had to completely reblock the show because of the side seats. I sat both sides for the show and I'm glad as each side was restricted so could see different bits both times

Granted I've never been at a performance of Grease where the audience have behaved well but this takes the cake Talking, singing along, texting with their phone screens at full brightness, one baby crying on and off (who brings a baby to the theatre?), one man shouted "we love you Peter!" while Peter Andre was singing Beauty School Dropout, and 2 women started having a loud argument mid act 2. I actually was at this show and next to said baby, i did go and ask at the box office if it was classed as a family show, and they said that they allowed the baby in as the babysitter had fallen through... funnily enough the story the mum gave was that she was breastfeeding. What annoyed me more was the box office staff askes if i'd prefer someone drunk or a baby next to me, funnily enough at todays prices neither

I went to stage door last week, Jason came out first signed a few programmes then went back in to get his bike, Jac came out a few minutes later and signed and took photos and during this time the security guys came back out with some signed headshots of Sheridan and said she wouldnt be out

Strictly Ballroon last year, one of the Dance captains broke her foot, she also covered 9 tracks, during the few months she couldn't perform they had to call someone from the Leeds/Toronto cast to cover one role, another girl became a third cover to a track she'd originally covered in the Leeds production. Then came the show that had so many covers she ended up going on with an air boot. The swings were doing split tracks all over the place, great fun to watch
Grease 2017 tour, they cut the ensemble down meaning there were more then a few shows with just 1 Male or female ensemble, they called in the associate choreographer to cover the female ensemble a few times and there were 2 shows with no female ensemble since they were covering leads

I've sat there a couple of times, it's not awful but I wouldn't like to be there for a unfamiliar show, although this was before the refurbishment so not sure what it's like now

I think if you go in not expecting much then you're fine, I preferred act 2 to act1 and the younger cast I really liked whereas put of the older ones it was only really Neil McDermott and Kate Robins I enjoyed.
They do let you take pictures during the megamix too which usually I hate but I'm a fan of 1 of the cast and thought the way things are going with tours at the mo no production pics will emerge.
They were also filming the show from the front row of the circle today but just the one camera that I saw

Who was the girl playing Velma? Didn’t look like Josefina Gabrielle. Of course BGT didn’t bother to mention her name because she’s not “famous” 🙁 Vivian Carter

I saw Ivan on Wednesday having seen both him and Will I prefer Ivan, he’s not as showy, and therefore the focus is where it should be (in my opinion) on Scott & Fran. He made a couple of ab-libs mainly at the beginning when he basically got a very quiet reception about how there must be some Will Young fans in and that seemed to do the trick with the audience, then at the end thanked everybody for being so wonderful to him.
Box office did say that people had been very nice the night before about Will being off but I did hear a few complaints about it, looking at Twitter it seems people weren’t happy that they couldn’t get exchanges including one person asking will to sort them out tickets for a future show.

The only problem I had with the mega mix was that they seemed to turn the mics up so much it was almost chipmunk like! I did see Rebecca Stenhouse as Elle and she was fantastic, lovely clear voice and seemed so comfortable with the role.

I think sometimes it's the audience that can spoil a muck up matinee, I've been to a few and I try and not make it obvious that it's different, but been sat around fans that have gone out of their way to laugh loudly so that everyone around them knows that they're in on the joke.
I seen some fans (myself included when I was younger) get actually outraged that a final matinee wasn't a muck up, at the end of the day a muck up matinee isn't what you've paid for it's just a bonus if you know the show backwards and it's not just for you it's for the leaving actors to have a bit of fun.

Grease always used to do understudy announcements in the pre show announcement, now it's just signs in the foyer (or in Birmingham's case several different ones with the day before covers as well as that day)

Jason only did the one show in Birmingham, George did all the others, I assume he was off and putting Llandyll on as Vince would've resulted in a very unbalanced ensemble (despite the powers that be clearly not considering this when they cut the ensemble originally)

Exactly. My dad text me randomly at just gone 2230 asking me where I was and this was before I'd heard anything so was confused, so when I got on Facebook and saw the safety feature I thought if anything it saved a lot of texts/phone calls from friends who knew I'd been there. I see no problem in people outside of London who go regularly doing it, but you're always going to get show off kids doing it "for a laugh"

I marked myself as safe because I was passing through London at the exact time, part of me felt like I shouldn't be doing it since I don't live there but at the same time it's the best way to let people who knew I'd have been there at the time know I was safe 😢 I only found out what had happened about 30 mins after and knowing just how close I was is frightening.

Regent Theatre in Stoke has signs up saying there will be full bag checks, and they did seem to be having a good search on biggish bags

Rachel should have always been alternate!
Wouldn't object to having Stuart back, would surprise me tho. Really would hate it to be Ben!

Just saw the last matinee, pretty sure majority of the audience had the plague as all there was was coughing. Was a strange last one as only two of the cast (to my knowledge) are actually leaving so it was basically just a normal show with a month break really. We had Charles Hagerty as Sy Spector, he's been on for nearly two months now, he is a great Sy and has changed his performance as lot since the first time I saw him. Sad this is leaving as I've followed the tour since opening in Southampton and seen all the Rachel's (although the only ones I didn't see were the first west end cast). Will be nice to have some money now tho 😂
