I'm not sure how well known this is, but the Almeida are planning a production of this (I'm assuming the non musical version)

Not an offer as such but November is v quiet in the West end so it's a good time to get cheap tickets for the long runners that do dynamic pricing. Lots of £35 ish 'premium' position stalls tickets for Wicked, £66 Lion King seats which are often £200+ at peak times etc. Worth having a look in the next couple of weeks if there's a show you've been meaning to see.

I broadly enjoyed this but why is the cast so WHITE?! I understand this is set in Victorian-ish London but the only person of colour of note is a broad patois-speaking shop owner? There weren't even a couple of performers of colour who auditioned even suitable to drop into the ensemble? In 2019 London? They have to do better.

Does anyone have any photos of the "old" production?

I’ve been desperate for this to come back! But not desperate enough that I’ll travel to Bristol to see it. Fingers crossed it makes its way to London again! Really? It's literally less than 2 hours on a train to Bristol!

It's strange that this production, with a relatively short run and with such a good cast, seems to be struggling to find a full audience. Last time the play was revived in the West End it did so well it transferred to another theatre (New Ambassadors with Clive Owen to the Comedy with Eddie Izzard, both co-starring with Victoria Hamilton). And also to Broadway I believe!

Bloody hell, that's a blast from the past. And one of the dressers from that show was on that board - one of the bitchiest! I can't remember what happened! Fill us in!

I remember reading an interview with Ian Mcshane a while back where he was asked (paraphrasing) "what advice would you give future producers who wish to put on Witches of Eastwick" and he said "Cast three women who don't hate each other". I remember the WoE official website had a discussion forum that eventually got closed down as it was beyond bitchy Bloody hell, that's a blast from the past.

There's a TV ad for The Guardian on at the moment that uses a verse from 'Nothing Changes' in this show. It was driving me mad trying to work out why I recognised it.
Thought it was quite unusual to hear such a niche song... I guess someone at their ad agency must be a fan!

Sedos in London have announced their shows for 2020, I'm a bit disappointed in the musicals this time round but they do have 'Working' which I enjoyed at the Southwark Playhouse.

AT LAST. Shame on Nica Burns for giving this a theatre for so long. She’s the only (useless) theatre owner who would allow this to play in one of her houses. Tell us what you really think.

Can't say I'm not pleased to see it move on. I wonder if this is a way of quietly closing it with a bit of dignity in light of recent revelations.

Interesting that the "exclusive pre sale" is currently exclusive to ATG, Time Out and Wh*tsOnStage and possibly others I haven't seen.

From Instagram it seems Ainsley Melham was Aladdin and Isabella Mccalla was Jasmine. Jafar was Jonathan Freeman. Genie was Trevor Dion Nicholas from the London cast.
