To be honest I saw it so long ago (back in the 80s) that I wouldn't even know if I was watching the original, new or updated version. All I remember was it was great fun and like nothing I had seen on the stage before.

I can think of 2.
First one back in the 80s when I had to tell Kenneth Williams that he was being thrown out of his hotel in Tenerife for being rude to the staff. He was not pleased.
Then just after lockdown I went to the Tower of London to visit and saw the actor who plays Gary Windass on Corrie. I thought I had read he was being killed off in the series. Had a nice little chat with him until I mentioned him leaving the series and he replied "that's news to me". I was so embarrassed and backed away quickly. Needless to say he is still in Corrie.

Well that's a typical Daily Mail cobbled together piece of nonsense. Making a comeback from what? She was on the west end stage last year! Why do we need to know that an audience member who left early worked for the NHS, does their profession make any difference? "Crawling along the streets of Soho" unless that scene has dramatically changed since I saw it all you see is her outside the state door stumbling and then coming in through the door, certainly not crawling around the streets.

WOS update.
Update: With this concert not appearing on TV guides for 31 March, we have approached producers to confirm plans following their initial release.
They said: “Unfortunately, we have yet to receive exact dates and timings from SkyArts. It has not been scheduled as previously publicised but we don’t yet know the new scheduled date/time.”
Shame, but at least we will get it at some point.

Thats 2 musicals they have announced that I would like to see but unfortunately won't be able to as they have the worst leg room and I wouldn't be able to manage 10 minutes ley alone a full show. Are you getting theatres mixed up? The other palace is a modern theatre the leg room is more generous than most in London. Definitely not getting the theatre mixed up as I worked in a show there a few years ago for over a month so know it very well. During tech runs I sat in various seats and the legroom is terrible and I am not a tall person. Due to the design of the theatre and seats you can't put you feet under the seat in front which makes it even worse.

Yes I found that info as well. I wonder if there has been a change of plan regarding the date. I also follow the R&H concert Insta page and there is nothing mentioned. They have been heavily promoting the US stream so you would think they would be promoting this too. Hope it does happen on the 31st as I would love to see it again.

Is this still happening? Can't find anything to confirm apart from the WOS announcement which they took from another source and I can't find a TV schedule with it listed anywhere either. Surely it would be on TV schedules.by now as its only 5 days away.

I only know one person, Tom Xander from BOM fame but I had a feeling I wouldn't know any of the cast as I'm not really the age demographic for this show. Still looking forward to seeing it though.

To be honest I am not bothered about the cast as long as they do a good job, which I am sure they will. From what a remember when I saw it in the 80s (although I don't remember much about the 80s) I had never heard if anyone either. It's not really a "star performer" kind of show. Same with the cast announcement for Mean Girls today. I have literally only ever heard of one person, Tom Xander from BOM. I have resigned myself to the fact I'm just getting older and older.

Sat next to Jac Yarrow and Bonnie Langford tonight at Wild About You. Had a little chat with them in the interval when I came over a bit fan boy but they were genuinely friendly and had a nice chat about Pippin and Rachel Tuckers liking for wearing a nightdress on stage.

I'm going against the grain here but I quite enjoyed it. Not the best I've seen but certainly not the worst either. Yes the story is a mess and quite confusing but I quite liked the music (I've got the concept album so already knew the music) but the cast made the show for me. Rachel Tucker excellent as always and Jamie Muscato has such a lovely voice. He looked so young in this. Rest of the cast great too and, although I know nothing about Todrick Hall, I thought he was rather funny. Slight niggle for me was the blocking. There was a table and chairs at the front of the stage for part of Act 1 and all of Act 2 which blocked my view from where I sat in the front stalls. So missed some of the performance. Highlight for me was sitting next to Jac Yarrow and Bonnie Langford. Had a little chat with them in the interval when I came over a bit fan boy but they were genuinely friendly and had a nice chat about Pippin and Rachel Tuckers liking for wearing a nightdress on stage.

I'm guessing there is going to be some sort of scenery/props judging from the rehearsal pics. Well a sofa at least.

How do you pre order the vinyl? The announcement says exclusive preorder for London audience members? I would presume an e mail will be sent out to those who booked the show in London.

That was special. Jason Robert Brown always tells a good story and is very entertaining. Liked some of the new songs very much. Alfie only did 1 song but eas nice to see him. Cynthia was, as expected, superb. She really knows how to act through a song and her singing seems effortless. Especially just getting off an 11 hour flight. Took a friend who had never heard of Jason or his music and only knew Cynthia for Wicked and she loved it too, phew!

Disagree about ticket sales struggling. It took a while to take off sales wise but I actually checked last week and there were very few tickets left. Obviously not a popular opinion but I'm actually looking forward to seeing Alfie appear in the concert.

Hope that is correct but I've just checked on my TV planner with Virgin Media and its not listed at all. It is whatsonstage have announced it too. Well I'm thrilled to be able to see it again. I presume Sky Arts are going to cancel whatever programme is already advertised to be on at that time.

All I know is that the director said at the press launch yesterday that the show will have a new opening number and that someone asked Imelda if she was playing Dolly Parton in the show!!!

I think its going to be huge. Big cast, big orchestra and, I expect, lavish costumes and sets. Also a new opening number.

I think pre show announcements are a bit like pre flight demonstrations, hardly anyone listens or watches them.
